During my recent stay at the Best Western High Road Inn in Edson, Alberta, I was thoroughly impressed by how well this hotel delivers on what truly matters. While the property may be a bit dated, the team goes above and beyond to excel in all the aspects that make for an exceptional stay.

The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, the room was cozy and functional with a comfortable bed, a dedicated workspace, and a TV that allowed effortless phone-casting—perfect for both productivity and relaxation.

Breakfast, prepared by The Fresh Vine Eatery & Catering, was phenomenal. Guests have the option to choose from a menu specifically for hotel guests or upgrade if they wish. I went with one of the guest selections, and it was absolutely delicious—one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had, rivaled only by the Best Western in Fernie, BC.

I also dined at the Galloway Lounge, which was another highlight of my stay. The food was excellent, the service attentive, and the atmosphere just right for unwinding after a long day.

What truly sets this hotel apart is their commitment to cleanliness and care. Despite challenging weather conditions, with mud and snow constantly being tracked into the lobby, the staff worked tirelessly to keep the space spotless. Their dedication to maintaining a welcoming and clean environment is evident and greatly appreciated.

An added bonus was the excellent water pressure in the shower, which is something many hotels struggle with but makes a big difference for guests.

Yes, the property may show its age in some areas, but the service, cleanliness, and attention to detail more than make up for it. The team at Best Western High Road Inn truly cares about their guests, and it shows in everything they do.

I give this hotel 5 stars and will undoubtedly stay here again the next time I’m in Edson, Alberta. Highly recommended!

I'm staying here this weekend with my family for a hockey tournament. There was a double booking (my error) and they were very understanding and took care of it for us with kindness. Jeannie was fantastic to deal with. Thank you!

I don’t post reviews too often but I will love to post for this hotel . Hotel is very clean even it was muddy there was a guy with moustache looks like Indian was trying his best to keep the hotel clean I saw him doing mope after couple of minutes,having smile on his face . Rooms were very clean . Pool and hot tub is a plus point and then complimentary breakfast.all in all best place to stay in Edson area

Great hotel for hockey tournament! We had our U9 hockey team stay here for the weekend and would highly recommend. Between the restaurant with free breakfast and pool with waterslide, you can't beat this hotel for Edson.

One of the front desk staff said to my friends face "you shouldn't be smiling right now" when her mom asked where the funeral was being held... Not sure why they thought that was an appropriate comment to make to anyone, but especially someone in mourning.

EDIT: following their response to this review, I spoke with the management who had already investigated the matter and spoken with their staff, and my friend felt appropriately reconciled.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and have a pleasant scent. The lobby washrooms were exceptionally clean. There is a quaint pub on the property which is a fun place to visit. The only negative comment: Breakfast is included, which is a plus, however both orders of eggs were very greasy and the scrambled eggs were overcooked and dry (not fluffy or scrambled as they should be) Having said that, the service at the restaurant was exceptional. She was very pleasant and accommodating.

Best western is a good chain of hotels but my front desk experience was deplorable here. We were booked in my our company, and to start the front desk girl was unprofessional to begin with, they were fully booked which I guess made the matter worse but when we showed her our reservation emails she barely looked at them and said she doesn't have anything on her end. I suppose she couldn’t have done anything regarding the availability of rooms but just the conduct was very sloppy. It’s such a contrast to other hotels in Edson.

This hotel exceeded all my expectations. The staff was friendly and helpful, it was ideally located, the rooms were friendly, and it was very clean. The wifi was excellent. There is coffee and fruit available all the time. In the morning I left early and they gave me a bag breakfast that included: breakfast sandwich, apple juice, muffin, granola bar and water. Definitely recommend and will return. I stayed in a double queen for $135.16; taxes included. Drive around the back roads a bit, the scenery is excellent.
