Dealing with Bob and the team at Taking IT Mobile was a great experience. Losing a drive was painful, but thankfully Bob and the team managed to get ALL of my data back! My drive had defects on the platters, as well as logical issues (corruption/overwrite), so I'm VERY pleased with this company.

While I was working on a photo book based on a trip of a lifetime with my Dad, my hard drive stopped. And of course, I did not back up the pictures. Faced with a complete failure of a portable hard drive that contained approximately 20,000 photos, I was, to say the least, in panic mode. Avi and his team has been phenomenal. I accidently dropped my external hard drive from the couch to the floor. The exterior was intact, but my laptop could not detect the hard drive anymore. The light just flashes and it was making a beeping noise. I was at a loss as 10+ years of photos & videos, filled with memories of my family & travels, were all stored in there. I did not have another backup.

I did a search online and initially went to another data recovery lab with seemingly reputable reviews. However, after a few exchanges, they didn’t seem trustworthy so I took my hard drive back for a second opinion. I’m glad I made that decision; as it turned out, they claimed that the head stack failed and would require a costly head transplant, when it was in fact functional. They also made excuses when I requested for my hard drive back, proceeded with imaging (copying data) without my consent, and likely caused a circuit issue which arose afterwards. Needless to say, it was a nightmare to deal with and I became quite frantic and distraught at the whole ordeal.

Luckily, I found T.I.M. Data Recovery and connected with Avi who helped me immensely along the way. From the get-go, he spent a long time on the phone with me explaining the possible issues with my hard drive, the repair process, the payment options etc. He was very patient & understanding and answered any questions I had. When I suspected fraud with the other data recovery specialist, he was there to give me advice so that I can make an informed decision even though there was no incentive for him. I was very impressed by his honestly, knowledge, and forthcoming demeanor.

When I decided to entrust my hard drive to him, the process was fast and efficient. He always responded quickly and kept me informed on the job status. I've used TIM twice now. Once was on a laptop which suddenly died.
The second on an external drive which died. Both times, the service was top-notch. They were able to recover all data from each. They pick up and deliver to me -- saving me a trip. Their turnaround time is excellent. And Bob really does a good job of keeping me informed on the status of the job.
