A very cool spot with very interesting land formations caused by alvars and big stretches that almost look like pavements that were caused by glaciers. We took the Inland trail (yellow). The trails were very clearly marked with yellow pieces of wood attached to trees regularly and direction arrows where there was an intersection, meaning I was never worried that we went wrong way.

This trail is mixed between inside the trees and out on the stretches of open ground. I have somewhat weak ankles so was glad I had worn appropriate footwear as between the roots and the ground formations, I spent a fair amount of time watching my step.

The day we were there was extremely buggy which took away from the experience and reminded me of the expression "Misery loves company" however I would still suggest a visit...just be prepared to get eaten!

Great spot for a walk for anyone. Many different loops to explore. The beach area has benches and a Pavillion. The water is really shallow all the way across because of the sand banks. The center to check in has neat things on display. To get in you need to scan a QR code and pay virtually 12.25. It's all digital. We went on a Sunday in July and it wasn't busy at all. The staff that were there were helpful and friendly.

The coastal trail is beautiful but a little bit tough — it alternates between flat rock, loose sand and dirt/mud on the way back. Bring a bathing suit on a hot day, there are a few little beaches to swim in if you’d like. The Mac’s Bay offshoot trail is definitely not worth it

The bay itself was flooded because of high water levels and the Blue Trail was closed. However, it made it that much fun to see how one could possibly go all the way in the shallow waters. We didn't go too far but saw a family in middle of the bay with kids standing on their feet and the water level being only knee high. Created an illusion of standing on water in middle of the bay. Loved it. Also, saw a water snake run from under the rocks into the water.

This is such a beautiful place to hike. There is a hidden geocache if you like to treasure hunt. I love the alvars.
