Bookstore selling mostly used books, with a few new volumes. Like most used bookstores, he's got a wide range of everything. Very good condition of books. Fairly well organized.

Awesome bookstore, I’ve found lots of books here at reasonable prices. Some were recent publications, others timeless classics, and some ‘hard to finds’ too.

Kevin is also great. I’ve ordered some books, not physically stocked at the store directly from the publisher. He doesn’t mark it up beyond the sticker price, so it’s a great way to shop local, get the exact book you want, and at a reasonable price.

Check out the “banned book” section too for some great classics too!

We are so lucky to have Speaking Volumes in Grey Highlands. The owner has curated such a fine collection. I have found books I haven’t seen in years and have been able to replace some of my collection I lost on a flood. The owner is so knowledgeable and helpful and goes out of his way just to help you find what you are looking for. The atmosphere is fun and there’s a collection of new books as well as the used ones. Couldn’t ask for better. Well done.

This wonderful gem is truly impressive. As a long time bibliophile I was blown away by the scope and depth of the offerings and would suggest this as a destination for anyone loving excellent books - especially classics. I walked away with a Physics treatise by David Bohm and Von Clausewitz's classic on war and didn't even scratch the surface. I had to have my wife get me out of there before I bought more...this time! Cannot recommend highly enough.

What a true gem to have in the community of Markdale. We went on the weekend with our 3 kids and the grandparents. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. My kids loved the little space at the back that had paper and pencil crayons to draw with. Everyone left with new reading material. We will definitely be back again!
