There are no words to express my gratitude to Juanita and Caroline. They assisted me in exploring different options according to mother's circumstances along with my preferences and wishes. The information given was consistently so helpful and clear. They showed remarkable patience throughout the entire process and considered my living abroad to assist me in locating a retirement home for my mother residing in Ottawa. They guided me through all the process that was completely unfamiliar to me. Their support was exceptional. I was impressed with the comprehensive selection of retirement homes offered to me by Solva Senior Housing Consultants when I contacted them. My Solva representative, Juanita Cody, met me at the home that I chose first and made introductions with the executive there. She went with me on the tour of the facilities and asked questions of the management regarding various features and activities so that I could better understand everything.
She took comprehensive photos of the apartment for me and asked management about the various levels of care offered. I had a nice chat with her afterward and later called a few times with questions which she answered.

My 91yr old step-mother was hospitalized and unable to return to her residence, as she needed an increased level of care. I contacted Caroline Inman, Executive Director at Solva Senior Living and was very impressed. I am a retired physician from Montreal, but had absolutely no experience in dealing with all the necessary steps in finding a suitable place for my step-mom in Ottawa. Caroline guided me through the whole process with professionalism, knowledge, and compassion-responding promptly to all my questions. She was able to quickly find a suitable residence, needed hospital equipment, and recommend a company to pack and move belongings to the new residence.

The 5 star rating of Solva is definitely deserved and I would not hesitate to recommend them to move a senior family member to the right retirement home.

I contacted Solva Senior Living when looking for a place for my 90 year old aunt to live. Caroline was very helpful and suggested two places that met my aunt's needs within an area that was convenient for me to get to since I don't have a car and depend on public transportation. Both places were ideal and offered everything that my aunt needs now and may need in the future. I've chosen one of them although both would have worked well for her. I appreciate not only Solva's efficiency in finding my aunt a suitable residence but also the support I received from them.

Caroline and Juanita were fantastic in helping us find a new retirement home for memory care for our 90 year old aunt. Having been burned once placing our aunt on our own, it was reassuring to have their support in finding a better place. Memory care spots are in hot demand and we could not afford to pay for two places at once but Caroline and Juanita worked quickly to arrange visits around our busy working schedules to places that met our budget. We are happy to report that after less than a month, our aunt is settling in well and our minds are appeased as we see a clear difference in the care she is now receiving.

I cannot imagine going the process of placing my father in a retirement home without Solva’s support and guidance. Juanita took the time to meet with my parents, understand who they were as people and that created immense trust with them. Our initial “plan” came to a halt when my dad had no other choice but to go into an assisted living home to support his significant needs.
