Its a nice and beautiful place to pray to god. There are holy mass conducted every Sunday and a few other days of the week.

What a privilege for us Catholics to be able to listen to the Word of God in peace and love. I learned so much from the homilies of Fr. Bill since I joined this church this past year. Today's homily in church and on Mass for Shut-ins was so perfect for our times and summed up why we go to church. We are all one in Christ and by the cross we are all equal, no matter who we are, we are all children of God and we all matter and we are all loved.

St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish was established as a parish on June 9, 2013 and chose St. Marguerite Bourgeoys to be their Patron Saint. On October 19, 2014 the building, formerally known as St. Joseph Curuch was officially named St. Marguerite Bourgeoys.

The congreation chose her because, just as she developed new ways of responding to the changing pastoral needs of her time, they found themselves in a similar situation. They also chose her because of the strong historical links to the Diocese of Antigonish and her religious family of Congregation of Notre Dame.

The specific needs which led to the formation of the new parish were the dwindling number of priests and parishioners and the rising costs of maintaining multiple structures. After the process of lengthy discernment the four parishes: Saint Anthony Daniel - Alexandra Street, Saint Joseph - Cabot Street, Immaculate Heart - Mira Road and Sacred Heart - George Street became one with the new parish of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys.

St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Sydney is a Christian congregation serving the Sydney community and seeking, engaging, and encouraging others through a life-changing Christian journey.

St. Marguerite Bourgeoys seeks to be a loving, friendly community that worships God, and serves others. They place a high priority on teaching from the Bible and following the example of Jesus.
