I brought a very old (~10 years) external hard drive to Chris to get the data extracted to a thumb drive. I thought I would need to leave it with him for a few days, but he immediately began opening the device while I was there waiting. I asked him if I could leave it with him as I had to depart to attend a meeting and would be back in an hour or so. Before I returned he had sent me pictures of what the reader displayed on his machine and advised that there was no readable data on the device. It certainly was possible, since the hard drive wasn't used for many years. When I asked what I owed him, he said nothing. I was very pleased that I didn' have to pay for when there wasn't anything on my drive but I give him a small tip for his efforts. He also suggested that I may want to try another local computer repair shop that may have a different type of reader.

Spoke to Chris on the phone about a laptop screen replacement, and he gave me a few different options for the repair. I brought it in the same and the work was done the same day! Fast, helpful and transparent service! They even gave me the old screen back just in case - will for sure be coming back in the future for any tech repairs I need!

Came in to sell my PC and guy took 3 mimute to look at it and estimated the resale price between 800 to 500 then proceeds to offer me 200$ for it and telling me it was a generous offer. Guy at the counter, on top of having the nerve of offering me nothing for it, had the non-chalance of stretching and yawning in my face like the quote was hard work. Worst business i've ever been to and a absolutly disgraceful customer service. Will never go back again and i would advice anyone who's looking to sell their electronic to not go, not worth the time or energy.

I called Chris on a Saturday afternoon to see if he could replace the boot SSD on my Dell laptop and load Windows 11. He managed to do this the same day and at a very reasonable price. Ottawa Valley Tech Repair will most definitely be my first stop for any PC or smart device repairs I might need in the future.

Brought my phone in for a simple camera replacement. They removed old glass then said he lost the lens and put a piece of tape on my phone and said he wouldnt fix it and said i can try another day. My camera lens was not scratched prior to him touching my phone and i received it back taped and when i took tape off it was very scratched and blurry

Had to rearrange my whole day to fit into their posted hours, w.e. that's no one's fault, get there and the store is empty. Door has a whole other set of hours. There's companies that do the same thing and have enough respect for customers time that they actually tell you when they are open, screw these guys

I'm a solo lady who travelled by myself in my 31feet motorhome and they came fix my furnace and they were excellent. They were very professional and seem knowledgeable about my problem. They ended up changing the electric board. They came 2 days in a row. I was extremely lucky they were able to find that board for that old furnace. I recommend them. Big time!
