I had to get a new passport photo because I went elsewhere and it was just the worst. While no photo is great, I am pleased with this one and don’t mind it for the next 10 years. I didn’t get her name but she was great!! Definitely recommend for getting your photo done! Also was having issues with my camera and she was a great help. Will go back for any photos or camera needs in the future!

This store upholds a high standard of customer service. very friendly and knowledgeable staff. My go to store for my Film photography needs. They have everything I need and when they don't they help me find it and show me how to use it. I highly recommend this store, their kindness and customer service is in a class of its own.

This summer my dad gifted me the Nikon FE 35mm camera he purchased back in the late 1970's. Growing up I always remember him taking pictures using this camera and when he passed it on to me, it instantly became a treasured possession. Also, I began using it and fell in love with it just as he did all those years before. Then, after using it for a couple months, I jammed the film advance mechanism, and needless to say, I was devastated! I then stopped in to speak with the excellent staff at McBain, inquiring about a repair. They sent my Nikon in and two weeks later I was given the repair estimate, which was reasonable. Then a month later, my camera arrived back, and it was 100% worth the wait! When I used it, post repair, I was so thrilled with the smooth action of the mechanisms, not to mention the shiny brand new look of my Nikon, that I knew I had to share what a wonderful job the team at McBain did to help restore my beloved camera back into excellent condition. The staff at mcbain camera helped us out with passport photos for myself and my son. They were incredibly helpful and friendly and they were very patient while we got the baby ready for the picture. Very professional service and will definitely be back.

Came to the Sherwood Park location to get Passport photos for my 4mo old, these are the ONLY people who will do them this young, and I am sooooo grateful!!!! Granted, my kiddo could hold his neck up, otherwise we would have had to go to their Southgate location. They were also cheaper than anywhere else and their customer service and turnaround time was super quick! I am so happy! 10/10 would recommend!

Best place to take personal photos for passports or if you're a photographer and need some gear. Staff's always welcome you and greet you, plus their professional experience when you need any help within the photography field and the price they charge for personal photos is pretty decent and with good quality too

Very frustrating experience trying to get a print dry mounted. I have had such a run around from McBain.
Ultimately McBain is really uncomfortable dry mounting original photos/prints. They want you to pay to have a new print as they say they will ruin multiple prints in an attempt to mount one of them.
Even after 4 separate employees (multiple locations and labs) informed me the mounting was possible (and even routine!) with some risk to the original print.

So my print was shipped all around Edmonton after I received invoices from the 107 location (prior to closing). Today I received a call that the lab is too uncomfortable to dry mount my photograph even though multiple lab employees said this would be fine.
I was told to either pay an exorbitant printing fee to allow the lab to make a bunch of back ups (because they ruin a ton of prints I guess?) at my cost or pick up my print and take it elsewhere.

If McBain was so scared to touch my print I just wish they wouldn’t have given me the run around for weeks.

In the end I have called a reputable framer who was also very confused by why McBain would be so stressed out about dry mounting a print.

Furthermore, the framing store will come out to being about 50% of the cost of McBain AND provide same day service (whereas McBain quoted me 2 weeks for the same job).

I am glad to have found a store willing to work with my print but really resent the wasted time (First back and forth communication was 3 weeks ago).

I urge anyone who is looking to have a print dry mounted to look elsewhere. I also feel like if McBain is so nervous about this procedure they shouldn’t offer it…

I bought my first DSLR D3500 and lens from McBain 12 years ago and never regretted my purchase. But it got stolen a while ago. So I've recently become interested in full-frame cameras. I visited McBain in Sherwood Park last week to get hands-on experience with several Sony and Canon cameras. The staff was very knowledgeable and allowed me to try out all the cameras that I researched on YouTube and Google, and they also offered many valuable suggestions. Ultimately, I chose the Canon R6 Mark II with an RF 24-240 lens, as it perfectly meets my needs. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to try out all the cameras and lenses when I was unsure.
