One-Star Nightmare at Impact Hair Design

My consultation at Impact Hair Design started with hope, but ended in disaster. Despite clearly stating I had dyed my hair less than a year ago with black box dye, the stylist confidently claimed I could achieve my desired grey, ashy color in one appointment. There was no mention of needing multiple sessions.

The result was far from the cool-toned grey I wanted. Instead, I left with a patchy, uneven mess of brown, orange and green. To add insult to injury, the stylist burned my scalp during the blow-drying process, holding the dryer in one spot for an excessive amount of time, even after I moved my head in discomfort. I did mention this to the owner when I talked to them but they tried to say the bleach would make my head feel sensitive but the bleach was not on or close by my scalp. Despite my dissatisfaction, I still tipped $50 on top of the $350 appointment fee, hoping the color might look better in natural light. It didn't.

When I contacted the salon to request a refund, I was met with resistance. They cited a "no refund" policy and stated they have a policy to "fix" the hair. They wanted to fix my hair by toning it. The toner would not fix the unevenness or even lighten my hair. The owners said I have to pay for additional foiling and bleaching. When I asked for a copy of the no refund policy, they failed to provide it. I do not feel comfortable going back or them touching my hair at all after the way me and my friend were treated by the owners. This experience was unprofessional, painful, and left me with hair that was worse than when I walked in. Avoid this place if you value your hair and your money. This should not happen when you go to a professional.

The staff at Impact Hair are amazing! They are warm, friendly and very talented! They are also very accommodating with evening and weekend appointments for both adults and kids. The salon has a great selection of hair products too! I wouldn’t trust my family hair needs to anyone else but Shandra and the folks at Impact!

Stylists are knowledgeable, kind, and efficient. Don't be unreasonable with your expectations (duh? It's hair It has limits lol), and these ladies will give you your best hair possible. Melissa, Jamie, Chase, Rhian, Kelly, and Jody are all amazing, give off great vibes, and are very talented stylists. Don't hesitate to book an appointment!!
