Recent family roadtrip gone wrong, wife ended up in hospital for chest and arm pain. This was recommended by hospital staff and was quite impressed. Rooms are dated like other reviews say but are very clean and comfortable . I ended up staying 3 nights before they transferred wife to Thunder Bay and room' was cleaned and towels, bedding replaced daily.So yes, if you expect a 5 star hotel maybe keep going but if you want a very clean comfortable place with a fantastic restaurant this is the place

Really clean, spacious room. Non carpet floor, which I prefer. Pet friendly (extra charge for pets, as is common practice). Bathroom/toilet clean and decent condition. Sink is an older fixture, but in decent condition. Bed was comfortable enough for a good sleep. Furniture is older style, but perfectly fine. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. Bring a phone charger with adapter. The only 'problem' (I'm not concerned) was they offered a King bed, which was actually a Queen.

Was on a canoe explorer trip with 7 people, got stuck in a bad storm while getting quetico permits without our stuff and ended up having to crash at the motel. People were nice and gave us 4 pizzas free of charge that were good ash even after kitchen staff had gone home. Rooms were cozy and the blankets were clean. Awesome place 10/10

Worst room experience across the whole north shore of Superior! Mattresses quite old - they have springs! Lumpy and soft. Room has 60 year old furnishings and spreads. No outlet for light fixtures if you’re using tv. Room is dark!

Was charged very much money for a tired old room with concrete block walls and popcorn ceiling.

We spent a few nights here, and the staff and owners are super accommodating. They're friendly and go above and beyond. The rooms were clean and it was a. Ice getaway. Be warned....the meals are huge!! Anyone who feels the need to complain about prices there needs to give their head a shake. Meals are massive and so so good! Their prices are actually no different than any other restaurant in my community; only difference is that the portions are huge. Met the owners, they were easy going and made us feel like we were a part of their family. We would def go back again.

I like the food there. I often got lunch or just coffee with my friends. One time I ate a borscht and it was so good. It's nice and clean place. Polite and friendly waitresses and personnel. The white otter is placed in a comfortable location and you can get there easily on the way to Atikokan or from.
