2024-09 EDIT: I'm very sad to say I have to retract all previous and positive comments I made regarding Mark and his business. After my last review, I had hired Mark to put together a rather expensive PC for me. A few months later, there was a severe problem with instability and crashing with my Intel I9 CPU, which I paid over $1k CAD for. I tried texting Marc about this a couple of times over 6 months, and he ignored me every time. Finally when Intel came out and addressed the issue themselves, offering all affected customers an RMA process, I figured this would be a straightforward way to proceed. Noticeably, I needed Mark to help me do the RMA as he was the one who purchased the CPU for me, and I had none of the sales receipts or the original packaging necessary to proceed with the RMA.
So I emailed Mark, he finally responded, and said "yes no problem I'll get this started now, but I'm leaving on vacation in 2 weeks". All I asked him to do at this point was to get a copy of the sales receipt. After a few weeks, I heard nothing, so I emailed him again. Once again, radio silence. At this point I was extremely frustrated, so I called him (he had been screening my calls previously) and he immediately rejected my call, but texted and said he'd call me back in 10 minutes. Of course he didn't do that. The next business day, I tried calling again, and he had blocked my number.
It's hard for me to believe there isn't some underlying mental issues that would lead him to flip flop like this. One moment he's at your service and ready to do this incredibly simple task of getting you a sales receipt. The next moment he's screening your calls, and then blocking your number entirely. This not normal, mentally stable behavior. If that doesn't explain it, then he's just entirely unprofessional and incompetent. Either way, this is not the person to take your business to.
I'd also add that his website lists three individuals working there, but besides Marc the other two individuals clearly state on their LinkedIn profiles that they have had nothing to do with "Toronto Computer Guys" for years now. So it's just one "Toronto Computer Guy", who is absolutely terrible at his job.

I've had Marc do two jobs for me thus far, one a diagnostic and repair for a PC and the other moving internals to a new case. Marc was extremely professional and accommodating with both jobs. The second job had some hiccups just due to the complexity of my setup, but Marc went above and beyond to make sure everything was running smoothly.
I'm a fellow IT professional and it was very important that I find someone competent and prompt to help me with things i'm either unwilling or unable to do myself. Very happy to have found Marc, and i'd definitely recommend him to any of my friends or work contacts looking for someone to do PC repairs.
