I have used all about Tech a few times over the past years for various Mac repairs. Most recently I had a complete iMac meltdown. The hard drive couldn’t be saved but the shop offered a very reasonably priced solution to refurbish. Service was professional, quick and I really appreciated both the advice and the price. Big fan of this place!

My first time visiting the shop, I asked the technician if they had any shipping boxes appropriate for an iMac 27, as I am moving to Mexico and that is my only computer. They were not very helpful, refused to sell me an empty retail box that was sitting right there on the floor, and told me that I should just buy a cardboard box at Canadian Tire - claiming that this is what they do when they ship macs. At that point I thought they were just being helpful and offering me whatever advice they could give.

Then I talked to the airlines, and realized that it would cost me a fortune to bring such a thing in checked luggage, due to it being oversized. So I returned the next day to All About Tech, asking them if they had any used laptops, or mac minis for sale. The guy asked what my budget was, I said, "low", and he said that his laptops start at $800. I then asked him what $800 would get me, and he said that was the cost of a 2012 Macbook Pro.

Nobody in the world would pay $800 for an 11 year old laptop, especially not an apple product that has passed its end of support and cannot accept the latest versions of Mac OS. I've seen machines like that for $300 at pawn shops. Given that most of the reviews for All About Tech are decent, I cannot imagine that they rip off customers with unfair pricing - $800 for a 2012 MBP is so *extremely* overpriced that the only customer who would pay that is someone totally new to the world of Macs and ignorant of the OS issues that come with buying a Mac that's 11 years old.

My final question was whether I could trade in my 27 inch, 5k iMac from late 2017, with 16GB of RAM and a quad core i5, and pay the difference needed to get a decent used MacBook Pro / MacBook Air, and he just said "No", turned his back on me, and walked away.

It is fine that he did not want to do the trade, and perhaps he just does not have the sort of machine I'm looking for at a price I can afford. However the reason I am giving 1 star in this review is due to the rude and dismissive attitude I encountered from the proprietor (or maybe it was an employee, I'm not sure). I might not be a wealthy resident of Forest Hill, but I'm not exactly a bum either... and I was totally pleasant both times I dealt with this guy. So I'm puzzled by the bad attitude that I received - had I been treated with more respect, this is probably the place I would go at some point in the future when back in canada and needing Mac repairs, as it is conveniently close to where my family lives and has a good reputation. Instead, the business has earned themselves this negative review, and ensured that I will not be returning as a customer - ever. I'm writing this in the hopes that it will encourage them to improve their customer service in the future.

I got my pc fans fixed because the repair shop I originally went to couldn't figure out how to plug in my fans. Not only did these guys fix my problem in under 20ish minutes, but they also charge fair prices for their work. I'm 1000% coming back here if I ever have any problems with my computer! 🙂

I took my Imac into All About Tech on St Clair Avenue West today as it was running very slow. Carlos the Technician checked it out and explained what the problem was. He fixed the problem within 5 hours. I picked it back up today and it is running perfectly. It's never been so fast. Fantastic service, reasonable price and excellent customer relations. I would highly recommend All About Tech to anyone who wants honest, impartial advice, professional technical support and excellent service. It was my first visit following a recommendation from my daughter and I will certainly return if I need more support or accessories.

Took my desktop in to get a clean install of Windows 10. Carlos was very friendly and knowledgeable and had everything ready within 4 hours. Definitely my new go-to place for tech issues.
