I was at an event catered by the Angle Iron Kitchen and everything that was served was excellent! So when I drove through Lakefield today, I made sure to stop in for some more delicious food. I grabbed a pulled pork sandwich and it did not disappoint. The flavour of the meat and sauce was excellent. If you are passing through and need a quick bite, definitely pop in.

Angle Iron gets points from me for branding, presentation and service.

Unfortunately, the food was subpar for something associate with the word/name “spice co”.
Ordered the curried chicken cranberry taco, pull pork sandwich and the potato salad.

Curried chicken cranberry taco was lacking in flavour I.e — where was the fragrance of toasted coriander seed or cumin? It should be renamed light-yellow-mayonnaise chicken salad. Redeeming point — it looked very pretty! See photo.

Pull pork sandwich— again lacking in flavour. Just taste of salt and sugar with a hint of bbq sauce. It just tasted sweet.

Potato salad was good. Did not disappoint... hard to mess up a potato. Good mix of Dijon and dill that made the flavour pop!

Would I go again to spend $35 on this meal? No - there are cheaper ways to get my fix of salt, sugar and mayo.

We had Angle Iron Cater a weekend Gathering (4 Adults & 4 Kids), for 2 lunches and 2 dinners (prepared food to re heat). Not only was it, clean easy and convenient, it was some of the best catered food we've had. and as a n added bonus, the Kids devoured it... on the Menu was:
1. BBQ Chicken & Rib
2. Lasagna
3. Fried Chicken
4. Pulled Pork & Mac & Cheese
5. Sweet Corn Salsa
6. Orzo Salad
7. Chipotle Coleslaw
8. Baked beans
9. Greek Salad
10. Purple Jesus (Onions)
The value was outstanding. I couldn't have asked for any more.

YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE. The steak sandwich is epic and the chicken tacos are the best I’ve ever had. Everything on the menu is outstanding. Skip the fast food chains and have a meal you won’t forget, just off Queen Street in the heart of Lakefield 👌

Look forward to eating here every summer! Food is always delicious and interesting, fresh and a change from the everyday. When we couldn’t eat out much last year, I was the cure for a craving for a meal like we would get at a top notch restaurant.

So good! An edgy "smoke house" style chip truck with a deliciously different menu from the usual "poutine" or "hot dog". Great options for adults and kids. Kind staff. Fast service. By far the best place to eat on the lake. Forget Patio 27 or the boat hoisr. Grab a tray and a bench by the water. A1! Great work chef Brian Henry!!

They were happy to accommodate our Ketogenic needs. I had “sausage on a bun” and my husband had the steak sandwich. Both were modified to have a delicious bed of salad and took away the carb overload. Beautiful presentation too.

We make the Angle Iron a regular stop every weekend we’re at the cottage. Excellent tacos, sandwiches and poutine and salads. Chef Brian also sells pre-made meals that they sell next door in the Young's Point General Store; the ribs and pot roast are exceptional. Stop in by car, or park your boat at the locks and treat yourself.

Go up
