If you’re driving along the northern shore of Lake Superior and find yourself in Wawa, ON, Bangin’ Burger and Chicken Shack is a good spot to refuel.

Conveniently located directly in town and easily accessible from the highway, it’s a great place to take a break.

I initially had my heart set on some fried chicken, but with an hour-long wait, I opted for the spicy bangin’ burger and an order of fries instead. Both were tasty and filling, providing just the right fuel for the road ahead.

I had lunch here on a pleasant summer afternoon. I had a soda, some fried cauliflower, and their bangin chicken sandwich. It all tasted great, and the outdoor seating was nice in that weather. The staff seemed slightly gruff, but they were professional and served the order quickly without any mistakes. If the weather is nice it’s definitely worth giving them try; the food is quite flavorful.

We just stopped for a quick bite on our way to Pancake Bay. The Banging Burger is a proper burger patty with just enough heat. The onion rings were a perfect burger stand side.

This is great value for real burgers!

We arrived in a bit of an afternoon rush, but our order was ready in a few minutes. I enjoyed the courteous and efficient service.

There are good options for seating outside the stand, including some picnic tables under a shade.

Fresh and home made taste, good size burgers. Bangin burgers are spicy. I love it. If you are in Wawa and looking for a burger this is the place. Customer service could improve a bit. I saw someone else also mentioned it on Reviews. But overall great burgers.

I had a really odd experience there. I asked the woman who served us how the summer was - just making conversation. Before long she launched into a rant against government. After she took our order I could hear her inside screaming and swearing. It was really weird. Maybe it was because she knew we were from the states? There are reviews on Trip advisor mentioning her temperament and one says she dislikes Americans, so maybe that’s it. Either way, her behavior was bizarre. Also, the chili dog was really awful. The chili was like a thin goulash that turned the bun into a soggy mess. It tasted awful and left an odd, almost chemical after taste. Even if the food had been good, I would never eat there again. The woman’s tantrum was too bizarre. Before eating there, check the reviews on trip advisor. It would seem that this was not an isolated in incident.

They offer a vegetarian gravy!

Had both the poutine with vegetarian gravy and the vegetable poutine. Both were incredible! The fries were super crispy and coated in a delicious Cajun-style seasoning.

Also had the mozza sticks which were incredibly well cooked and crispy.

Stopped by on our way to our campsite and the burger and fries are the best I ever had in a long time. Burger is cooked perfectly and the fries have seasoning salt on them and are very tasty!! Highly recommend!!
