Well, I work here so I'm kind of biased on the subject, but in all honesty, Bartsch's Income Tax has the BEST tax preparation rates that you'll find these days. I truthfully think it's cheaper (and at the very least comparable) for a person to come and see us at Bartsch's Income Tax and have your income tax return prepared by professionals, than it is to do your own using one of the available software options to file your own taxes...and there's MUCH less chance of an error. We adjust far too many returns throughout the year due to mistakes made while filing with these "easy to use" products some are minor, but some can cause quite a big mess. It can end up costing you a lot more in the end (possibly thousands!)......and who knows what credits, deductions and other tax savings you could be missing out on by not going to a professional?!
You also just can't get from a tax program the helpful and knowledgeable advice that can comes with having a professional prepare your income tax return.
If Bartsch's Income Tax has done your taxes and something CRA related comes up throughout the year (e.g. reassessments, reviews, audits, or requests for further information), we have you covered free of charge. This service [outside of client requested adjustments and client errors (i.e. omitted or forgotten slips)] is included in the already great price of your Income Tax Prep.!

Why should you use a professional

- Maybe you don't really need that RRSP deduction and your money will serve you better in a high interest TFSA. (Do you understand the amazing tax savings significance of this option?)
