Third year to file with Studio Tax, impressive no hassle software. I particularly like having the software loaded onto my laptop rather than the ‘cloud’. Pretty straightforward to e-file. Have not had to use their customer service so cannot report on that. I am very happy that my tax files are stored locally on my device. No issues, recommended.

This is my first year using StudioTax, after using TurboTax and paying an accountant to do it.

This is some seriously awesome software. It exposes the underlying forms to you, so you really understand what you are doing. It's not just wizards everywhere.

I do wish the documentation would be better, but I still give this a 5-stars, because the software itself is good. It is stable, it does not crash, and it is fully featured. I have learned so much about the Canadian tax code after using this software.

Also, for C$15 for 10 returns, I have no expectations for extensive documentation. This software is the best.

It seems their tax software including functionality (or lack of) is from the late 1990s. It's horribly clunky and unprofessional.

Just try to change your entries or add/remove anything after you complete the initial wizard. Auto-fill isn't intelligent enough to realize you've already auto-filled previously if you want to download new slips at another time.

There's no PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN function when reviewing your information or navigating the tax program. It's really difficult to verify your data and frustrating for anyone who likes to check their work and entries.

ST was barely acceptable when the software was free, but NOT now since they went to a pay model. So many people accept mediocrity., This is why (in part) I feel consumers are taken advantage of and nut-bars get re-elected.

Support will gaslight you rather than acknowledge any shortcomings.

I'll pay for a semi-professional versatile application which tax specialists or those who expect functionality, simplicity, and modernization use (the major players) and recommend. Just try one of them and you'll never use ST.

In my world, BHOK doesn't exist anymore. They can continue to collect the $15 for their Tesla fund. Bye bye.

I started using StudioTax in 2008 and when I discovered how easy it was and that it was free, I would tell people coming in to Staples, where I worked, about it. In 2011, I was helping an in-law clear up a decade of back taxes and I was able to use StudioTax's software from 2004 all the way through. This saved me a lot of writing and hand calculating. I still use StudioTax every year and certainly don't mind paying for it now given how much use I've gotten out of their tax software. Although I much prefer free to paid, I don't mind paying $15 for something better than any other tax software I've seen. Keep up the great work, BHOK IT Consulting.

Using the software for 10 years .It's quite good, for the price. Does the job correctly for personal returns, never had anything rejected by fed.and provincial agencies. Make sure you update it, I use it in mid to late March so you get the official and approved final version.
Care and attention is needed when filling the forms etc. so I always do spot checks when I finish to make sure all is ok. Makes everything so much easier with calculations and form entries .

While generally reliable, StudioTax has several bugs that users should be aware of, particularly those who use the Professional and Business forms, T2125. Data does not get imported from the previous year for both spouses in the Capital Cost Allowance section, leading to the loss of deductions if not noticed, or to the need to refile if noticed after filing.

Also, after refiling, data will be partially lost in the CCA section when printing the refiled document, meaning the print record will be unreliable if you ever need to rely on it.

StudioTax provides very poor support. Answers to queries about such bugs are not provided quickly and when they are provided the answers are often incomplete, requiring a follow-up question.

Nothing long to share but since I started using Studio Tax (for a few years now) for my annual return, it 's been quite easy for me and I also learn more each year I file online. It is not only accurate and reliable but saves time, of course! I feel confident about it.

For so many years to using the Studio tax for my tax returns. I am very pleased of this software. Even it starts to pay this year, I would say still worth what they charge me. Cheers.
