Very helpful and caring practice with an excellent service from vet Karen and her staff. They made sure that my cat Cleo was thoroughly checked over after she was feeling off colour😿. Luckily after her visit and tests she was given the all clear so we can resume our travels together through Canada.
Would highly recommend this veterinary clinic 😸

Dr. Johnson, Sam and the team at Colchester Veterinary Hospital are the best! Their ability to ask questions to get to the root of any problems with our boy Waylon is refreshing. Then to thoroughly explain any medication or treatment needed to get Waylon healthy again was very reassuring for me. Waylon is 20 months old and I am so happy to have found Dr. Johnson to be there for us for as long as we have Waylon with us. You’re the best! Thank you 💕

I’m very grateful to get on with this clinic! My black lab rescue Breaker doesn’t like needles or offices, and normally would get muzzled during shots.

Colchester VH didn’t muzzle him, made him feel calm and safe with some cookies instead, and I think we both walked away feeling better about a visit to the vet for next time. Thanks folks!

Dr Johnson and the entire team here were beyond amazing during my visit today.
I have an older dog who we’ve been having issues with her health lately, our regular vet in Truro we’ve spent thousands of dollars over the last few months and the issues were not alleviating and had no answers. Each visit was more frustrating than the last. Today was my first visit here and they will now become my regular vet and will shout from the roof tops how amazing Karen and her team is. Karen diagnosed my dog quickly, carefully and cost efficiently. Our other animals will be making the switch over as well. It was clear my animals well being was Karen’s priority and I felt so comfortable. Their office is open, clear and inviting. If you’re looking for a cost effective and knowledgeable vet look no further.

Being new to Nova Scotia we are so happy we found Dr. Johnson and her team. Our dog had a traumatic injury and uncomfortable vet visits in the past, so it is wonderful to have a vet that is calm and patient with her.

I have a diabetic cat ( Prince Oliver) that required insulin for the last year and a half. I spent a lot of money and was told he would never get better and I should probably just put him down. Thankfully I made the switch to see Dr. Johnson and her wonderful team. My sweet boy is now in remission and no longer requires insulin. He is as rambunctious now as he ever was. Everyone at Colchester was very kind and supportive. I even had random check up calls from the wonderful vet tech Caitlin just see how Oliver was doing! As a mom of several pets I am very thankful to finally have a local clinic I can trust and count on. If you haven't switched to Colchester Veterinary Hospital yet.. check them out, I stopped in one day for a visit and asked the lovely receptionist a few questions and liked what I saw. Prince Oliver also approves 👌 👍 he actually loves it there and makes him self right at home. The atmosphere is quiet, calm and not only is it clean... its spotless!

Dr Karen Johnson and team did their best to reduce stress for my dog who has anxiety in exam rooms which was appreciated. She was very thorough in explaining procedure and discussing treatment options which helped me with my fur parent anxiety. Candace is super friendly and sets the tone for the clinic from the first phone call. Veterinarians are highly trained with years of education costs and clinics have a high overhead to operate. The clinic provides estimates on procedures after exam. Vet care fees are appropriately priced. This new clinic was thoughtfully designed with an initial exam room with the exam table hidden if not needed. We discussed my dog’s anxiety before approaching him to ensure a safe and minimized stress visit. We had a very positive experience.

We had an emergency with our kidday and the regular vet wouldn't look at us in fact turned us away. Every vet we tried in New Glasgow said NO!!!!. we called here and they made as an appointment by the end of the day no questions asked, we were on our way to Truro. Took in our fur baby diagnosed her and gave her medicine to take home. Called the next 2 days afterwards to see how she was... such compassion and love they have for animals is outstanding. To follow up 2 days in a row is amazing. They even explain costs before they proceed. We've decided to remove our pets from our regular vet and keep going here from now on. We won't be turned away here!!!!
