Colonial 900 Motel - Hope, British Columbia

Nous nous sommes arrêtés dans ce motel deux fois en quelques jours. Le propriétaire et les employés sont sympathiques. C'est peut-être un peu vieillot, mais c'est propre et bien tenu. Il y avait un micro-ondes et un frigo. Les prix sont très raisonnables.||||Juste à côté du motel, il y a un restaurant qu'on dit grec, mais qui offre des repas assez variés. Les demi-portions de lasagne suffisent pour une personne «normale», puisqu'ils ne sont pas «cheap» sur les quantités.

Le motel est un peu en retrait de la ville, plus proche de la forêt. Il fait moins "usines" que les autres motel de la ville. Les chambres sont très confortables et très propres (baignoire, bureau, canapé et table basse). Il y a également un parking. C'est un très bon rapport qualité/prix. Le seul bémol serait la décoration un peu vieillotte mais ça fait aussi parti du charme.

Please simply take criticism for your unwelcoming behavior and bad customer service. Look at all your replies to the negative reviews… what a Karen. And before you say that review are supposed to be experience of actual stay as a paid customer, one would never pay and stay if your customer service is rude. May god bless u🙏

Not willing to help backpacker while heavy rainfall , just want to find a shelter for rain，not homeless. Very unfriendly. Not recommend.

The reservation process directly with the owner went well. The room was clean and tidy. The bed comfortable (the manager supplied us with a very decent blanket to keep us extra warm in the night). Nice shower with hot water. A working refrigerator that kept our perishables overnight. For hotel/motel coffee that was supplied - really good and better than most. The room was cool (hence the blanket request)- didn't need the air and could sleep with the windows open. It was quiet throughout the night - we had a great sleep. We were happy with our choice and would have no qualms recommending to others.||Caution: Avoid the restaurant next door.

So we stayed one night in room #1, with our beagle. Decor is 80’s, which is fine. I booked a king size bed, someone called me just before the trip and said we would have 2 queen beds instead - ok I’m fine with that. Then we arrive and it is one queen bed. Hmmm #1||The key front door lock took a lot of jiggling each time to get it open, needs to be changed. Hmm, minor annoyance. ||Multiple plugs in the place don’t work, annoying.....coffee maker didn’t turn on.....now when you mess with a person’s morning coffee.....that is dangerous territory!😜||Basically zero wifi. We were too far away from the modem? Lucky if we got one bar for 5 min then kicked off.....😕.||Then the smell wafted through the window....the smell of rotting garbage....we were on the end and didn’t realize a few months worth of bottles and cans piled up and literally a wheelbarrow of garbage right beside our room. Now this is completely unacceptable and unnecessary. 😡||Accepting an affordable older decor motel is one thing. This was a bit over the top on grunge.||Bed was ok comfortable, on wheels, room temp was good, fridge worked well....was quiet until neighbor got up at 3am to go to work. He was pretty loud walking.

This place was a pleasant surprise. The owner / manager (Simon) was very friendly and courteous. Our room was clean and very well maintained. The price was very reasonable ($95, with tax). The beds are comfortable, but a bit soft, and sound travels very easily between rooms when they are connected by that inner-suite door. It wasn't an issue for us, other than a two minute conversation we heard from the next room.

I'd recommend staying here. I'd give it a 4 1/2 star rating, if Google allowed that.

I’ve been staying at the Colonial 900 Motel for a few years now, sometimes multiple times a year. I have always had a good experience when I’ve stayed. Simon is most courteous and thoughtful, the kind of service you expect from a family business. It’s location at the end of town allows for a quieter stay, even though it is only 1 minute drive to town. The rooms are both comfortable and clean, perfect.
