Our company hosted a teambuilding charity event at the Cookstown Curling Club and we cannot say enough good things about the experience! Club Staff were SO friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable - everyone from experienced curlers to people that had never touched ice before had an AMAZING time. The environment was safe and structured but also relaxed and fun at the same time, and every employee that attended had only positive things to say - we hope to make this a new annual event! We can highly recommend this venue and this staff!!

Amazing atmosphere and very welcoming. Would highly recommend giving curling a try if you’ve never played, the members are great and it is a community staple. An excellent place to meet your neighbours, have a blast and get a little bit of exercise too. Many thanks to all the members who volunteer their time, I’m so happy I ventured out of my comfort zone to give curling a try.

This was my first year curling. I was very nervous to try something new. But I will say I have felt very welcomed, and supported.
It is always nerving to try something new. This club is judgment free and inclusive!
I have told many of my friends about the Cookstown curling club and are encouraging them to try to sign up next season!
The ladies curling night, is something I look forward to every week, and I have made a bunch of new friends! I cannot recommend this enough for newcomers! It’s been a blast so far!!

I first started curling in Cookstown as a teenager, playing in the Friday afternoon junior program after school. Some fifty years later I still play in the Monday night men’s league and continue to enjoy it.

The club has always been a staple in the community, and serves as a great recreational venue during the winter months. I have so many fond memories of curling here, and have built many friendships that have lasted a lifetime.

The men’s league is very well run and offers a welcoming atmosphere for both new and experienced curlers. I would encourage anyone who may have thought of playing to come out and give it a try. I think you will see why we love this wonderful game.

Seniors Curling – Cookstown Curling Club’s BEST KEPT SECRET!
If I had known how much fun seniors curling was going to be, I would have joined a decade ago when I turned 55! In one way it is relaxed and fun but it is serious curling! They play 8 ends
always! (well unless you are being annihilated!) and even a three-person team against a three-person team will play 8 rocks – 8 rocks ALWAYS! You get to CURL – a LOT! They are very welcoming of new curlers and willing to guide with their decades of experience and make the new curler a better curler. You will for sure learn some new tricks from some old hands!
We have so much fun on the ice – and we have so much fun off the ice. The camaraderie just makes you look forward to 1:00 on Wednesday. There is always a joke (or three) of the day – usually a little off colour! The bar is open, and BUSY! But most of all there is a lot of laughter.
If you have the luxury of Wednesday afternoons off and you’re looking to improve your skills and have some fun at the same time, consider Seniors Curling at Cookstown – you won’t regret it!

I cannot express how wonderful my experience has been with the Thursday night Women's League at the Cookstown Curling Club. Each year I have been a member, I have felt welcomed and embraced by a community of friendly and supportive women who share a love for the sport.

First and foremost, the atmosphere is incredibly warm and inviting. Whether you're a seasoned curler or a complete beginner, there's a place for you here. The camaraderie among members is solid, and everyone is genuinely invested in each other's success and enjoyment.

The organization of the league is top-notch. Anastazia and the Emilys go above and beyond to ensure that every game runs smoothly and that all members feel valued. The schedules are sent out in lots of time, and the facilities are well-maintained, providing the perfect backdrop for an enjoyable curling experience.

What truly sets the Women's League apart is the sense of community it fosters. Beyond the weekly games themselves, there are fun nights (last night we celebrated St. Patrick's Day) some social events and gatherings that allow members to connect and forge lasting friendships. Whether it's post-game drinks at the club or an end of year bonspiel, there's always something fun happening.

I can confidently say that joining the Women's League at the Cookstown Curling Club has been one of the best decisions I've made. It's not just a place to curl; it's a vibrant community where women come together to laugh, support each other, and share unforgettable moments on and off the ice. If you're considering joining, don't hesitate—you won't regret it!
