First time visiting Desi Tadka with friends. We ordered a variety of items! Special mentions to the Honey Chili Fries (crispy and flavourful) and the Amritsari Aloo Kulche (more of a breakfast item but the flatbread was delicious with the chutney and channe). Wonderful customer service with menu recommendations. We also ordered mango lassis and sweet lassis with our meal. We were very full afterwards and had to take some food to go! Definitely recommend Desi Tadka!

I just wanted a quick bite but couldn't resist the $10 take out "Dal of the day with rice special". They offer a couple of choices of dal. Also many vegetarian options. Very friendly and helpful server.

They were very generous with the basmati rice, the lentil dal was excellent and much creamier than I'm used to. A great deal for lunch.

A nice very clean restaurant offering table service as well.

Desi Tadka Restaurant delivered an authentic North Indian culinary experience, with a special focus on Punjabi delights. The Amritsari Kulcha was a standout, boasting a perfect balance of crispiness and flavor. The Chole Bhature were a delightful indulgence, rich and satisfying. The Lassi was a refreshing companion to the hearty meal. Surprisingly, even the Veg Noodles, though not traditionally Punjabi, held their own with a unique Desi twist. The ambiance was warm, and the service, prompt. A must-visit for those craving genuine North Indian flavors.

After long time, finally I found authentic Amritsari Kulche in Ottawa. Being punjabi from roots, I have eaten Kulche all my life from various places. When I moved here I was missing Kulche. But I can definitely say gap is filled now. The Kulche with Masala tea here are outstanding. Definitely going back there again. Only one suggestion I made to Maninder uncle that please open your restaurant on Sunday as well. 🙏🏼

Only one feedback, got their salty lassi as well. That was normal, I was looking for fresh Salty lassi with some mint in it.
Also, they don’t have regular water option you need to buy water bottle only.

But all in all there Kulche have stolen the show, as long as they continue delivering the tasty Kulche I am happy 😋

Very Disappointed – Not Ordering Again

I ordered Pav Bhaji and specifically asked for it to be spicy—but it came out sweet instead. To make it worse, we ordered close to their closing time, and the Bhaji tasted like it was leftover and reheated.

We also ordered Chole Bhature, and they packed the Bhature in a paper bag, so they turned soggy by the time we got home.

We were both tired after work and just wanted a decent meal without having to cook—but this was such an unhappy experience, we ended up skipping dinner. Definitely not going again, and I won’t be ordering from here in the future.

I did a take out for chicken noodles. Chicken pieces were hardly there. The quantity was low. Only 3/4th of the box was filled. Taste wise it was good. But when I confronted the owner, I was given explanation that we fill it full but noodles settle down. But I checked as soon as they packed in front of me and it was very low. I guess they do that because of the buy one get one offer but it’s really unethical. Usually one plate serves two people. But the quantity was so low that two plates were just about sufficient.

In My last 4 years of experience, it is my first time that i ever had a food taste likes a Home… It was totally worth… I wouldn’t feel like heavy stomach but ate until my belly got satisfied with the flavour they provided to us… I would highly recommend to everyone to come to this place and try their food… Their food and welcome internally forced me to leave a review for them…. I must say that real taste still exists somewhere in canada…

Order Chhole Bhature and Cauliflower Kulcha with Masala tea. Good taste. Restaurant wasn’t busy and service was fast. Kulcha was probably baked in tandoor and then pan roasted so tou may ask them if you only need tandoor made. Chana was tasting good
