This place is a total gem. After skiing for many years on cheap, poorly fitted equipment, I wanted expert advice to finally buy great equipment that I love. That’s exactly what I got. The staff are top notch. They have decades of experience both skiing and selling gear. I’m so happy with my gear. The boots fit my oddly shaped feet like a glove, and the skis they recommended are perfectly suited for me, and were even on sale! I feel I got great value. Skip the stores with all young staff and go to Dinardos!

First time here and these guys are the best.

I've been skiing for 30 years and apparently I've never tried on boots properly. Everywhere else in the area was more like a sneaker store where they'd get your size and find you something that you could get your foot into without too much pain - at best a suggestion that some heat molding for an added cost might make it fit better but if I could manage the discomfort it was already probably good enough. I had been all over town for the end of season sales - pretty much same experience everywhere.

Buuuut... within a minute at Dinardo's Paul and Frank had me in what they correctly assumed would be the right boot, they did a quick check of the fit for me in just the shell (a first for me without the liner) then started heat molding the boots for me (which is just part of the try-on process and not anything extra) while they explained a ton of technical boot fitting info and options for helping actually fit the boot to my foot (wide forefoot with a high instep).

I had walked in thinking I'd take 15 min to see whether they had anything that suited me and I ended up there for a couple hours while we went through the whole custom boot fitting process together (so fair warning to everyone). The hard ski boots feel like regular winter boots now and I just didn't know a ski boot could fit like that - particularly a high flex model.

For comparison here's a photo of my old boot and new boot (on the right) to compare what a proper fitting does visually (I wanted a hybrid for alpine and touring). They're both the same 26.5 size and same 102mm last, but in comparison the old ones just feel like coffins. I've never had anyone spend this sort of time with me explaining a product and what to expect. I'd come in thinking I'd done my research but these guys basically gave me a graduate level seminar on the topic.

My family is relatively new skiers and we had bought some generic equipment from a big box store that never quite fit properly. My wife went in to see about new boots and Frank helped her out and she now loves skiing. I was so impressed with the fitment from Dinardo’s I went back and realized my boots and skis weren’t right for me and Frank helped me out with an amazing setup!! Today I took my daughter in and she was also fitted for boots and skis. Their prices are competitive, however there isn’t any ski shops in Ottawa like Dinardo’s. These guys really know their equipment and are experts. I learned my lesson buying from a box store and Dinardo’s will have all of my skiing and cycling business going forward. Thanks Frank!! Our family has much more appreciation for the sport of skiing now that we all have equipment that’s fits amazing!

Ok let me leave a negative review for the first time in life. We went there when we just arrived Ottawa, to support this local business by giving them full trust to recommend a bicycle for my son 3 years ago. My son was 4 and never cycled. They recommended a bicycle with 5 speeds and a size for a 10 years old. Then I went back to switch to a one speed bike which was the only option, as a refund wasn't possible at the time. They said their machine was broken so couldn't do me refund but they can leave it as a credit in my account. Then there's a $90 balance in my account which i have been called during the 3 years and never been able to have it as refund. I was never able to talk to the boss anymore for the refund as he was always busy, of course. Never mentioned that the sales guy was a rude and racist guy, he yelled at my children whenever they touched anything. besides, we never had one service after sale for the bicycle. I have shopped in other cycle shops these years, other places have amazing after sale services. Never want to deal with this shop again. And I will not give up on having my money back, it's not a money issue already. I consider it a scam.

To reply to the owner's reply: I hope you are not joking that I purchased the first bike "against" your advice lollll it was you or your salesman that recommended us!!! BECAUSE you guys wanted to sell us higher priced item! If you haven't lost your memory, you should remember that I went back to the shop and expressed my disappointment by the over large size for my child, and you had only one other bike in the shop and we took that, and my son is 8 years now, he never touched this bike before because it was still too big for him. You had nothing to say back then and was ready to refund me the price difference, then there was that lady in cashier told me that the machine was broken, and she would put it in our balance and we could get refund anytime. I trusted you again and now this. Besides, To tell a kid not to touch things, there're many ways, and your sales guy chose that rude way by yelling at them.
*****This is not a trustworthy business and don't be fooled by their sales technics. There're many other decent bike shops in town ran by reasonable and honest people. ******************
BONUS: you will see a negative review from now on for every month that I haven't got my refund that was due 3 years ago:)

I recently purchased a new set of skis and boots, and I couldn't be happier with my choice! The staff took their time to help me pick out the best pair that fits for me, which made the whole process enjoyable and stress-free. I will say they are very knowledgeable with all their equipment !

I was out on the hill for the first time yesterday and I couldn’t be more happier with my choice. The boots are comfortable and provided me with the right amount of support, they also kept my feet warm throughout the day. I highly recommend Dinardos , definitely worth spending some money on yourself for an amazing set.

Thought I was going to have to travel to Toronto for a pair of k2 Mindbender boots, but found them at Dinardos. Great price and good fitting session also. Ski boots are like eye glasses...you have to be custom fitted. I am happy and the good stories while shopping were appreciated also. Frank must do his hiring from the Old Testament because I saw Moses and Noah working there...grey beards with "beaucoup" experience.
