Moved into the Cornwall area a few months ago and tried to find employment through Drake. Originally posted at a company for what was supposed to be 1.5 months, but was no longer needed in three weeks as the regular employee I was to cover for returned to work (no fault of Drake). Drake told me they'll contact me soon with other opportunities. A few weeks later I call to follow up, and the only job they had for me was at Walmart Logistics. I apply to what was supposed to be a Mon-Fri day role, interview and get accepted. On day one at the end of orientation I am given a schedule to work entirely overnights and weekends, something I was very clear I couldn't do. There was no day role available, and I had to decline the position. Followed up with Drake, told they'll get back to me, never heard from them again.
Fast forward three months... I see an online posting for a local garbage collection job they are gate keeping. I give Drake a call to apply, and am told they have put two candidates forward for the role and will wait to see if they are accepted before suggesting me (?!? Gate keeping as I mentioned). Shouldn't the client be able to select who they think is a best fit?
As I continue to try to see what other work they may have that I could fulfill, I am told all of their work is overnight positions, and the lady on the phone continuously interrupts me mid sentence while I am answering her questions. I try to ask her to allow me to finish speaking, which she ignores and continues to speak over me. Frustrated, I hang up.
This location is incredibly frustrating to work with, have little to no professionalism, and aren't interested in actively helping you find work. I do not recommend them.

I don't understand this employment company. It's only open what 3 days a week? And when I showed up to the building here in Cornwall. Which was at around 10 am on a Thursday. And the office was closed. I was interested in applying for the garbage collection position. Because my friend recommended the position to me. Because he stated that he really enjoys it. I've been to Job Zone trying to find a specific program. Which seems like a dead end too. Because I seem like I have to go from appointment to appointment. Which seems to get scheduled every two weeks. Even when I stated I need a job ASAP. As I have a learning disablity. And have a hard time holding a job. So I have to somehow get in touch with an employer that can work with people that have this condition. I have moved here from Alberta back in 2020. So I honestly have no idea where to go. To find a job.

Hey, it is what it is. I am a student, so I only work in the summers and Drake has gotten me sufficient employment. The jobs are boring and tough, and the pay is too little in every case. But this is the difficulty of the job market generally. They got me full-time employment two summers in a row. I did my job well and then I quit. It breaks my heart to see some great people deeply frustrated by the limited options they have for employment. It is tough out there. So I give the situation a minus five stars, but for getting me work in the first place with little hassle I say five stars.

First and second placement went OK, definitely lack of communication. They had found me a one time 8 hour shift at an address that did not exist, I had contacted the actual employer and was told "go around the back and inside the door" I had went around to the back only to find 4 doors, 2 of which were locked and the other 2 were different companies. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE!

Terrible agency, do not waste your time here. I would not recommend associating with Drake. Very shady and limited resources. The staff isn't competent as far as I can tell and I asked them to close my file after 2 conversations with people there lol. Awful

I believe there is a lack of communication among Matrix and Drake and it should be fixed.

I have been with them for a few months, yet still haven't been able to find a job. I even recently got an e-mail from them for job openings around my city, yet when I call them, they still say that they have nothing. What a waste of time.
