Flamingo Motel - Cardston, Alberta

Une honte.||Nous avons dormis dans la chambre 202 de ce motel. Outre le fait que rien n'a changé depuis 1970 , ce motel est le plus sale que j'ai vu. Pendant mon séjour de 1 nuit j'ai tué 4 cafard et j'ai vu une punaise de lit. Horrible !!!. Quand je vais voir la propriétaire pour lui dire, celle-ci ment et me dit que c'est faux. Une honte, elle ne c'est même pas excuse. J'espère que les services sanitaires vont venir dans cet endroit horrible. Un conseil allez ailleurs. Je pense que les avis positifs sur ce motel sont faux.

Seul intérêt de loger à Cardston ? Être proche de l'entrée Est de Glacier National Parc. Il faut 20min environ pour rejoindre Babb où il n'y a vraiment rien à part une petite épicerie et un bar.||Cardston est une petite ville sans grand intérêt avec 3-4 restaurants pizzeria et un supermarché assez grand pour faire ses course.||L’hôtel ? Un motel très ancien où tout est dépassé : téléphone, télévision, linge de lit, etc. La propreté est moyenne et l'accueil sommaire. Seul point positif : le wifi (gratuit) qui marchait assez bien.

Check your bed before you sleep! We had bed bugs!! Look I don’t expect much from a motel in a small town. Cardston doesn’t offer a lot of choice (and on expedia this was the only option aside from a b&b which we should have done although their reviews weren’t great) and we had to go there for a test at the high-school. I selected this place because people said it was clean and when we first got the room our initial impression was just that. The room is extremely dated and the mattresses are not that comfortable but we thought for one night we could put up with it. But in the morning when we woke we discovered bed bugs!!! There were little brown bugs on the sheet and my daughter got bit because there were small blood spots on the sheet!

We had a bit of a mini freak-out and immediately packed and tried our best to quarantine our clothes and left. I went to the office to let the front desk guy know to see what he would he do about it. He was apologetic, said this is the first time they had this(not sure if I believe him), they check it often and he would look at it. Honestly I didn’t feel completely satisfied with that answer. I thought the least he could do was offer us a refund or something but he didn’t make much of an effort beyond that.

So short answer is believe what you think about motels in small towns. It is true and I won’t be staying here again anytime soon.

Great roadside motel! Rooms have been renovated and are very clean. Beds are a bit firm but comfortable. Excellent water pressure with ample hot water!
Continental breakfast was fantastic with a lot of variety!
New owners are very welcoming have done a lot of improvements. As others mentioned, a nightstand is needed, and I hope that will come in due time.

Very few places to stay when traveling to the beautiful park close by and border crossing.. Wish service and rooms are as nice as the spread for breakfast.. Breakfast saving grace!! This place needs a lot of work and new people over seeing this place need to attend to each room and fix /update all the things needed .. They charge 3x what this place is worth.. only because of it's close proximity to the park and border.

Generally, this is a convenient place, and the price is reasonable. Especially suitable if you want to cisit waterton national park. Less than 1 hour drive. Breakfast is normal. Please prepare extra food or visit nearby restaurants.

Ok let's start with the Pros:
1. Wonderfully friendly and helpful lady in the office! She was fabulous!
2. The room had everything needed and plenty of space.
3. Location was great for what we needed.
4. The shower pressure was strong.
5 The continental breakfast was good. Lots of options, fresh fruit, juices, etc
Now the Cons:
1. We were charged more than was advertised. Over 160 per night! I'm sorry but this place is not worth 160+/night .
2. Loose pieces of furniture laying around outside
3. The TV in the room is tiny. I mean teeny tiny. The mirror doesn't need to be there! Replace it with a decent TV!
4. The 'bath' towels were too small. I don't think I could have wrapped a 5 year old in them!
5. The bed really irritated me. It has wheels! Wheels that don't lock! Everything I tried to read I ended up half way across the room!
6. The continental breakfast. Although it was good, the room it was in was too small for the number of guests. And, because the doors were left open, bugs and wasps were everywhere.
7. There was a strange raid spray like smell that permeated the entire room.

We are not fussy people in the least. But expect to get what we pay for. This wasn't it.

Wem die Hotelpreise im Waterton-NP zu hoch sind oder wenn diese belegt sind, bietet sich dieses Motel als Ausweichquartier an: Die Zimmer sind frisch renoviert, absolut sauber und ich schlief im bequemen Bett in makelloser Bettwäsche ausgezeichnet. Das Frühstück ist allerdings in einem eher engen ungemütlichen Raum mit nur 8 Plätzen einzunehmen. Es ist aber vom Angebot her für diese Kategorie sehr ordentlich. Eine Empfehlung, wenn man auf die Preis-Gegenwertrelation achtet.
