It's a small store that has most of the basics. The prices are generally quite a bit higher, so we only go there in emergencies. Eg. I was shocked to see bananas for $1.49 when they're $0.89 pretty much anywhere else. That's a huge difference. I really wish our local stores could offer us better prices so we could keep the money in our community as much as possible. The stores in Chester tend to have considerably higher prices. It's the worst part about living here. The best thing about this Foodland is the super friendly staff.

I find Foodland to be very expensive, and getting more so over the years. I don't live in Chester, I live in the city, so that is why I compare the prices. Both grocery stores in Chester have very high prices, to be fair.

Quality of produce was poor. Male staff , 50ish, slight build, dark hair, glasses, rude and lazy. I'm telling people to stay away just because of his attitude.

I have never been treated so rudely by a store employee. At 4:15 on Sunday January 22, 2023 I was checking out my 2 items at register 3. The cashier who had no name tag was about 50 with light brown hair. When it was my turn she was talking to another cashier and did not acknowledge me. She scanned my 2 items and at that time the man behind me handed her a large number of lottery tickets to be checked. She shuffled them about while I was paying with my debit card. When my transaction was finished she was talking to another cashier about how long it would take to check the tickets. She handed me my receipt and walked away. I said loudly “you’re welcome”. She then turned to me and said “do you need a bag?” Those were the only words she said to me.
CUSTOMER SERVICE was non existent.

A very clean and friendly place to shop. Just 2 things irked me, 2 for or 3 for item stickers are very bold but the fine print is too small to even read. Also have my Scene card on my phone in a store that has no WIFI and where I can't get reception

This store isn't all that bad for a small community. I don't live in NS anymore, so of course, the prices of stuff is crazy back here. There's a lot in this store for being so small. You will find something to eat.
