Je suis vraiment sur le choc par votre entreprise , car après avoir signé un contrat au mois de janvier jusqu'à allé choisir les briques, GBD me demande aujourd'hui une augmentation de 100 mille $ de plus sur le montant que la banque avait validé avec eux au mois de mars. GBD est suppossé nous livrer la maison le 30 juin 2021 nous leur écrivons des courriels mais ne recevons pas de réponse, nous les appelons personne ne répond. Maintenant il nous parle d'une augmentation de 100mille $.

Very deceiving experience buying a home with GBD. We signed a fixed-price contract with GBD for a house 4 months ago. We sold our previous home, got a final mortgage approval and registered our kids for daycare in the area. Two months before the move-in date GBD sent us an email that there will be a price increase of $30,000 and potentially another increase of an unknown amount 30 days before the delivery date. They also add clauses to the contract when you ask for additions without warning you hoping that you would sign and then you are bound by that agreement. The excuse is that the price of materials has gone up because of the pandemic. As a contractor, when you sign a preliminary agreement, you budget before you sell the home to the client and if the price of materials increases, you should absorb the cost and honor the contract. If the price of materials goes down, would they decrease your price? No.

They will also deliver the house months later than promised in the contract so now we have nowhere to live.

We were fooled by their nice looking model homes and because they have been building houses for a long time. They used to have a good reputation but apparently not any more – many clients are in a similar situation and many are calling their lawyers. If you could go to another builder, you should. It is very stressful dealing with GBD even if you have a good lawyer.

There were many other negative reviews, at least three more which I saw in the recent weeks, that were removed somehow.
