Beautiful view of the ocean, the service is amazing. The owner served us even when she wasn't open. I can say she was the nicest woman ever..
We have been there 3 times in one week, and are planning on going back before we go back to Calgary.
The food is absolutely delicious I would suggest the classic breakfast and my husband would say the omelette is delicious. I also had a hamburger with pork on it. Omg I suggest that because it melts in your mouth.

I’m from Newfoundland but live in Ontario. I was home on vacation and was asked to go to Burgeo for a two night visit to see the beaches. We stay at Gillette Motel and without a doubt it was awful. The room was dirty and smelled horrible the electrics were very scary you could plug the curling iron in and turn on the microwave at the same time it would blow a circuit. The freezer was so full of ice you could fit anything in it. The owner of the establishment was so unprofessional, when she was asked if our room was go to be cleaned she freaked out so unprofessional. In my opinion she’s under staff because nobody wants to work with her or so we were told by the local. If you go to Burgeo do not stay at Gillette Motel it won’t be a pleasant stay.

Owner does everything.
Room is old, smelly bedding, old carpet, squeezing bed,....too many to list.
Restaurant is not clean, pork & knives very dirty(did not wash properly), table is dirty from night before.
Water color is brown. I rarely took shower.

Spent my whole day driving to get to Burgeo, around 5 in the afternoon I arrived to the hotel and no one was there to greet people, even though the open sign was on. I called 2 days ahead of time and was told I was booked. I waited in the lobby for roughly an hour and no one showed up (also they left a number to call if they stepped out but after calling it multiple times and getting no response I gave up). After waiting around multiple other people showed up to get booked in and had the same issue, no one was there to give them a key or let them in to the rooms they booked. After speaking with a few people in town while trying to scramble to and find a new place to stay at 6PM in the evening I was informed that this is a very common issue. Gilletts will no longer be getting my business while working in the area as they are very un-reliable.

The food was okay - good homemade fries and excellent turkey soup. Fish cakes were extremely greasy and way too salty. Pretty typical of what you can expect for a restaurant around the bay. The service was technically lacking, the table had never been cleared from the people before us and she forgot to bring us our drinks. However, the staff were all incredibly friendly which more than made up for the lacking service. The owner also gave us a free bag of ice for camping as we left as it was hard to find elsewhere in town at the time.

Just went in to ask for food.. the guy didn't care to serve me.. told him we were looking for food .. he asked what kind ? Breakfast? I said well I was hoping for lunch but do you have a menu? He says a Breakfast menu? I say Ok? We just wanted food. He walks over to the cook and says to you feel like cooking another Breakfast? Yes or no? No? .. I just walked out.. clearly they don't want my business.

Early in the spring, I booked two rooms for two couples at the Gillett’s Motel in Burgeo for August 11, 2022. However, when we arrived at the hotel, there had been a mix-up and only one room was booked and there were no other rooms available at that time. However, the owner/manager of Gillett’s Motel was very apologetic for the mistake and went out of her way to find other accommodations for us. Not only did she find us other very nice accommodations, which was more expensive, but charged us only the hotel rate. Not everyone in this business would be kind enough to acknowledge the mistake and go out of their way to rectify the situation. We really appreciated the service she provided and wish her every success in the hospitality business.

My mother in law stays there when we visit my mom and dad . She’s loves it and Adam has always accommodated her. Food was excellent . We reserved , so he was ready for us. We were celebrating a special occasion and , he had a cake for us. Would recommend to everyone. Very clean. And the owners are wonderful....
