Junior Achievement is not only a great learning experience, but also a fun and interactive way for students to see what it's like to be an entrepreneur. Having been both an achiever and a mentor I have experienced first hand the supportive and collaborative atmosphere Junior Achievement Of London & District strives to create. It's great because everyone can take away a little something different, whether it be better leadership skills, new friends, entrepreneur experience or all of the above.

I participated in the Junior Achievement program when I was in Toronto and after completing the program and learning so much from my helpful mentors I decided to volunteer while attending University. Seeing the program from a different angle allowed me to continue learning about business personally with the amazing lesson plans and structure provided by the staff and other volunteers. There is a lot more work than seen that goes into Junior Achievement and I believe that as a student this is a great program to learn about not just business but budgeting and personal finance, an area that is not covered as well as I would have liked when I was in high school.

Overall, I believe that Junior Achievement is a valuable learning experience for not just prospective business students but all students.

I have been part of Junior Achievement (JA) for four years. For three of those years, I was a student in the program and this year, I was a volunteer with the administration team. Junior Achievement has been an amazing program for me as it brought me out of my shell when I entered the program as a shy Grade ten student. My mentors along with the other students in the program were always supportive and helped me to gain as much as I could from the program. This experience was invaluable as it taught me leadership skills and business skills that I would never have been able to experience from reading a textbook or sitting in a classroom listening to a professor speak. I am therefore extremely grateful for everything that JA has provided me with and I highly recommend other students to join JA!

JA is an organization that truly invests in youth. Their programs build brighter students every day by teaching them to think critically and act responsibly. Students learn important teamwork skills and how to lead in a fun, interactive way. I learned these lessons as a Company Program student in high school and now, as a program facilitator, I am proud to say that these same lessons are still at the core of all JA programs.
