STOP right here. DO NOT search any further for septic pumping services. John is absolutely the best. My septic tank clogged and my toilet over flowed over Christmas. I was so stressed and in panic mode. As a new home owner I knew nothing about pumping septic tanks. John broke it down in simple English and he was so patient with my many questions. He always returned my many phone calls and called back when he said he would. He also returned voicemails promptly. His pricing is also extremely reasonable. I would also like to thank his service technician (sorry I didn't get your name). These are the type of professionals and individuals who restore ones faith in people and companies. John, from the bottom of my heart I sincerely thank you for your EXCELLENT service and humanity. Happy New Year!!

I contacted this company through the portal on their website to request pumping service for my septic tank. Never received a response or even the courtesy of an acknowledgment. I then reached out to a more reliable company to perform the job. That's worth 1 star, if any at all.
Update: I did in fact receive a response about 10 minutes after posting my review. I suppose it could be a coincidence! 🤣

This review is actually two years late. The services I received from John Knox was over a few years but it ended just before the pandemic, which forced us to close our B&B business in 2020 and sell our property.

All I can say was that they were my go-to provider for servicing my septic pump needs. Very reasonable to deal with and, if their schedule was busy, they work with me to come as fast as they could. Very happy woth everything and I appreciate being treated well.

The first time I used John Knox, they didn't inform me properly of the full schedule of fees that were going to/possible to be charged (it is a lot!) - and when I received my bill I was very shocked.

I received my bill 3 months after the job because they did not ask for the proper business address, and sent the invoice to the wrong address - meaning the invoice was 3 months outstanding by the time I went to use them again - making me 'at fault' for not paying (again, I never received the invoice). They informed me they wouldn't pump again until I paid the invoice.

My second time using them (I paid the first invoice immediately to allow the new job) the driver was late 1 hour and kept me waiting on site which was very unprofessional. When I expressed this to the attendant on the phone (for future business improvement's sake), she was not understanding nor concerned about their being late, which I found to be unprofessional.

Customer service was not to expectation. They handled my jobs poorly. Will bring my business elsewhere after this second job.

Hired John Knox Pumping to get our house's septic tank pumped.

The service man did not record the amount he pumped out on the side of the truck, who knows if he pumped the 1 gallon or 1000 gallons, there is NO PROOF.

Called customer service and they were UNHELPFUL and not understanding of the situation. Without proof how can you ask for over $1000 in service fees? Moreover, all customer service rep could say was, "it was probably full". 'Probably' does not cut it.

Trust is an important part of a business' relationship with its customers, but you cannot ask for blind trust or for us to believe in "probably full" from a customer service rep that was not present for the service and a service man that does not properly record the job being done.

We just want the facts BEFORE we pay for the service. We are NOT trying to avoid paying the full price, once we get REAL PROOF and not conjecture, we will HAPPILY pay what ever is owed.

I have used John Knox pumping service on multiple occasions. They have always been available when I needed them. The team goes out of their way to do a good job and make sure everything is cleaned up. If you are looking for a professional pumping service I highly recommend this company.
