The cottage was clean and as advertised, but read the description. Covid era protocols seem to still be in effect and I can only conclude that the owners prefer no personal contact, are relieved not to provide daily service, and expect you will be happy to remove your refuse. ||The resort is about 10 km from Picton, with few amenities nearby apart from the two associated restaurants. The cottages are on the lake shore, but with little privacy from the busy lookout and restaurant areas, and minimal landscaping. There are coded door locks and you get the code by email the day before you arrive. The main cottages are concrete block boxes with low-maintenance fake wood exteriors. Quality of workmanship inside and out is sloppy. Our cottage had two bedrooms that would theoretically sleep seven, but I can’t imagine more than three people being comfortable in the space. The shower is adequate but the hot water heater is low capacity. No air conditioning or heating; climate control depends of opening windows or doors. The kitchen is adequately equipped for cooking, but beyond salt and pepper, sugar, and coffee filters, there are no amenities so do your shopping beforehand. Wifi is so slow that I could not even load the menu of the restaurant next door.||Yes, I get it, these are supposed to be cottages and not luxury suites. But the value per dollar is way below what one would expect. There is a binder of instructions, signs posted on the wall, and an email beforehand telling you what not to do if you want to avoid additional ‘service’ charges. It all conveys a certain attitude. The County is a busy tourist area so if you don’t rent the cottage, someone else will.

We stayed at the bayview bunkie off site for 3 nights. It was very clean and just big enough for 2 people. There is no air conditioning but with a fan running sleeping was not bad as the bedroom is on the lower level. Upstairs was alot warmer but tolerable. There were alot of bugs getting in at night when the lights were on and we could not figure out where they were coming in. Possibly the screen door. Unfortunately did not realize that getting to the dock and water was quite a steep path on steps made of rocks (also where the firepit is) So if you have mobility issues not a good place to stay. We enjoyed the view from the upper deck. Suggest bringing a camp chair (which we had in the car by chance) as there is only a small sofa and not much room for 2 people to sit comfortably. We did enjoy our stay as it was very quiet and clean..It would be a nice spot to stay if you were attending a wedding in the area for sure. I found 3 days too long for us but it was a 3 day minimum. Check in and out was seamless.

Stayed at Log Cabin #1, and the location was great overall given the proximity to Picton and the Waupoos area, and the size of the cabin was perfect for two. The washroom was surprisingly spacious given the size of the cabin, the shower had good water pressure, and the kitchen was well stocked for anyone wanting to cook their own meals. Otherwise, the accommodations themselves were just OK. The floorboards were uneven and some of them were loose/unstable, the stovetop and toaster were both very old and finicky to get to work, and the bed was a double bed (disappointing, since the website advertised a queen bed). What was unbearable was the heat and humidity! There was a fan provided with the unit but it didn't help at all... thankfully we had brought a small camping fan with us that was roughly four times stronger, which made the cabin livable if not really comfortable. Overall, it's cute spot, not fancy but enough to give you a place to stay while visiting the area, and we highly recommend that anyone considering staying here should bring a portable dehumidifier and/or A/C unit.

Lake on the Mountain is absolutely stunning. The views are incredible with water on both sides of the road. Well worth the drive, restaurants and accommodations. Very peaceful.

I asked Google maps for fastest directions back to Belleville and was given directions that took us to Desoronto 30 mins out of our way via 49.

What an amazing place! I'd book now and experience this place and area. You won't forget it 100%. The staff are amazing, and we're lucky it's close by, but I'd drive hours and hours to come here. Give them a try!!!
