We have been looking at this place for over two years and finally we were able to book for a three-night weekend in June 2023. We booked in February as we saw from last year the accommodations quickly booked up. The house has three bedrooms which suited us perfectly (we are an older couple with our middle age son & wife and our daughter and husband). We discovered after that there was also a pull-out sofa bed. Our daughter has three dogs which were permitted as this was a must-have requirement for her.

If you want to see what a Newfoundland house that is over 100 years old looks like, then this is the place for you. Of course, the kitchen appliances are updated but the look and feel of the house structure have been preserved. It is quaint and very comfortable and all six of us were super impressed and just loved the place. The only complaint was the weather and if you know anything about Newfoundland, you know the weather is highly unpredictable. However, we are always prepared for this with a lot of food, drink and games. We have done a number of ‘Staycations’ since the pandemic started in 2020 and this place ranks among the top. Upper Island Cove is a nice place to explore for hiking and a lot of big-town amenities and other interesting places are just a short (10 -20 KM) away. We give this place a thumbs up and highly recommend it. We also felt that it was a great value for the money.
