We were able to camp in our own RV. The couple that own this campground are friendly and very helpful. We had to pay to have our dog with us. That seems a stretch since we kept him with us in our trailer. I understand him charging for pets if they are in the camper cottages or in the housekeeping cabins. The island is beautiful. Manitoulin Island is an absolute jewel.

Hands down the best place on the lake to stay for an extended amount of time. They have everything you need from fuel for your boat, live bait, tackle and WiFi. Nice updated cabins with tv and hot water. Great place to dock your boats as well.

We booked here for the first time , and were disappointed . We were given cabin # 7 , Gull Island . It is a small two bedroom cabin . We had a small electric heater that did not heat the cabin very well for the first few days , it was cold out and the cabin has no insulation . We wore socks to bed to try to keep our feet warm . The view from the cabin was beautiful . There were big black ants in every room of our cabin , and I am allergic to ant venom . We knew the office / store hours were shorter in June , and there was seldom a chance to speak to staff , we spent most days on the lake , returned after hours . We had read the reviews and were expecting much better . Disappointed .

Had great memories at this camp. But payed my deposit for 2022, had to cancel.
I tried booking with John for a wend this June, he wanted another deposit, he said I lost mine due to not using it in 2023!
Not impressed John, If you're that hard up just use the money on another Bahamas trip! Won't be back, pretty sad.

We couldn't find hotels for our ride north, and had another cottage site suggest this spot. It turned out to be a perfect place! The owners are friendly and accommodating and the layout beside the lake is gorgeous! The cabins are cute and efficient, offering all the necessities for a few days away. We will definitely stay here next time we are on the island!

Mac’s camp is awesome. The site is great and the amenities are amazing. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. My wife and I rented a boat and fishing gear. We were given info about the lake and were able to go out on our own and explore the area. This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Manitoulin Island.

Camper cabins are just what we needed. The owners are so sweet and very knowledgeable about fishing, boating, etc. Setting is beautiful! A lot to do on the island and the camp is central to everything! Highly recommend this spot!! Second time here and we will be back again!!

We have visited Mac’s Camp a couple of times and have always enjoyed our time there. The rustic main camp is 2 bedrooms, 1 bath and is equipped with a full kitchen and cozy living space. The wood stove makes the late Fall evenings very comfy!|The camp owners John and Debbie are some of the kindest people you could meet, always welcoming and available to answer questions about the beat hunting and fishing areas or just happy to visit.
