Our home is over 100 years old and needs major updating so we contacted MD in October 2022 for quotes on the big jobs we couldn't do ourselves. Once we agreed on pricing etc they started work in July of 2023 and finished up by the end of September 2023 - right before our 2nd child was due 🙂

We completed 3 projects with MD and it went perfectly!
*A load-bearing wall was removed between our kitchen and living room.
*An addition to the back of the house inclusive of a powder room, laundry hook up, pantry/storage wall and coffee bar area.
*A completely gutted and renovated family bathroom which is our favorite room to date!

Our contractor Barry was very patient with us as we had plenty of questions. He worked with us as we wanted to source the materials for our bathroom ourselves and other products. Barry #2 is a very skilled jack of all trades! He was in our home everyday and communicated with us when there were things that needed to be tweaked and helped us novices along the way with decision making. They say the devil is in the details and boy we were very lucky to have the two Barry's guide us!

They were very clean, very professional and detailed. Honestly all the trades that came into our home did amazing work! Bright Homes, HURN, Great Floors St Thomas who sourced beautiful terrazzo flooring (all dets will be on their page reviews too).

I had learned the hard way with contractors in the past that it is very hard to find good quality contractors. That all changed when I reached out to MD Construction. I had known Mark for years and got to meet the rest of the team including new owner Jeff Gillies. We needed a full kitchen renovation and I worked pretty closely with Jeff and his team, including Casey’s Cabinets (highly recommend) the team was highly professional, quiet and always cleaned up at the end of the day. They did stunning work, a shout out to Marks son who even restored and matched 100 year old trim work. The kitchen was done in 2021 and still looks as beautiful as it did when completed.

Since then I have worked with Jeff on other projects including waterproofing a basement, a huge undertaking but once again prompt and responsive and always answered any questions I had. This job in the end not as stunning as the finished kitchen, but I have a dry basement now.

Jeff is a family man and I think truly understands the value of a dollar and wants to make sure you get the most for your buck and treats your home just like he would his own.

The quote that Jeff Gilles prepared was very well detailed regarding the scope of work and payment schedule. Called Jeff asking for a simple bath renovation and he came out and suggested things I didn’t know was possible. The result is fabulous, our bathroom is now more spacious and spa like. Md Construction uses great trades and they were all a delight to have in our home, very respectful.
