Now that unlimited internet is available, it's time for more affordable pricing across Canada! Starlink offers unlimited plans for $140, and they may lower costs or expand roaming soon. What does Northwestel offer? Just higher prices and speed? Meanwhile, other regions enjoy much cheaper rates! It’s time to bring those prices down!

The store manager said I don’t need to buy the phone outright, just get a plan. But I’m not interested in paying $160+ a month for a plan when I can get a better deal elsewhere!

Data in Yellowknife is absolutely awful after running multiple speed tests I was not even able to get speeds to register with full bars in downtown yellowknife. I'm starting to wonder why I even pay for data if it's not available. Will be switching to starlink for cell phones as soon as it's available to finally cut all ties with this awful company.

The quality of the cable is so bad. I bought it from NorthwesTel just two months ago. It’s broken already. The clerk told me I have to call the company for a new one and it costs $9.99 to ship. Haha...never buy the product from Otter Box again. And I’m done with the lousy service in this store.

Awful company with rude employees.

Getting services set up in remote communities is like pulling teeth, no communication and the customer has no idea if or when they'll be served. DSL insanely expensive and overage charges are nuts. The Fiber is not even real fiber, poor latency and the best speed you can buy is 300mbps! Absolutely a case of a monopoly, where nwtel takes advantage of northern people because they have no other choice.

So, unlike what I have read, customer service has been mostly a positive experience for me; however, do NOT count on wifi being on for very long after they give you your bill. I had plans to pay on the phone after work today and that option was unavailable. So I decided to relax, play some games and just pay it tomorrow
all night I have been restarting my router to get internet back up and running
ALL night. However silly this sounds, some people depend on a relaxing night of video games and I was in the middle of a competitive match on a game I like. Winning the match, then wifi cuts out. Unfortunately on this game when you leave the match ends and counts for no one. So I left my team in the dust all because my wifi wont give me any service. At this point I’m afraid to play anymore because leaving matches can result in a ban. I’m sorry, but I was made aware of my bill this afternoon, can’t pay and now I’m out of luck for the night.

Please fix these issues as you are the only real ISP in Yellowknife. People depend on you, and I wish your internet quality reflected your otherwise lovely customer service.

I have recently moved to Yellowknife. I work from home. Three visits later, I finally am able to use my computer. I do not get paid for downtime. As of yesterday, I now have had no cable, Netflix, etc but my computer is working. Technician will come by this coming Monday to “explore” my issues for lack of cable/TV. In all my years of working (64 yrs young), I have never dealt with a company that treats their customers this way! As a customer, I & many others provide you with a paycheque! I expect service, as I provide our members. NOW.

Everyday service is down for at least 2 hours in Yellowknife, NWT.

This is the WORST telecom company in Canada. Not reliable, extremely overpriced and when there are interruptions they will not provide feedback or refunds.

Upgraded to unlimited yesterday morning and shortly after i got off the phone the internet went down and is still not back over a day later... other people in my area have internet still. Northwestel have a monopoly on isp and had to be forced by the govt to give unlimited as an option so they waited for the 12th month of 2020 and then fake service outages as an excuse 🙄
