We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. That’s an understatement for sure, but the owners, Derek and Kara, must hear about it all the time! Quite simply (and this isn’t an exaggeration) my dad, brother, and I agreed that our stay was probably one of the best weeks we’ve ever spent together. The quality of the place and care that is taken with it is obvious and makes it very easy to relax and just enjoy yourself.

Cabins are exactly what you need. Clean, comfortable, well kept, and the screened in porches are a great touch.

The lake and surrounding area are obviously beautiful. Often times you get somewhere after looking forward to it for so long, and there's a bit of a let down with the reality of the place. That was NOT the case here. The fishing was great too obviously, as evidenced by all of the pics on here.

Lastly, Derek and Kara, are great and their love for the place is obvious. I hope they can keep it up for years to come, as we will definitely be back!

This was our second trip to Pine Cliff Lodge and it was as amazing as the first. We brought family with us this time and they all loved it too. Derek, Kara, and the boys were great as usual. We felt like they were part of our family while we were there. My brother's thought I was crazy as we had to drive through snow Sunday to get there but things got better as the week progressed. The majority of them are from Florida so I can understand. We caught plenty of fish. They are already planning another trip and bringing more family. We may need more cabins built. LOL

We had a great time at Pine Cliff Lodge and Big Sandy Lake this summer. It was our 3rd visit. The fishing wasn't peak in late June but we've had better times in other months. Derek and Kara are always great hosts. We love seeing their boys grow up. This is a wonderful lake with the only lodge on it. Just being on the water surrounded by beauty is a real treat. I've been to a lot of lodges in Canada and I like this best.

We can’t tell you how beautiful this camp is, except to say that it was the best kept camp we have ever seen after 20 trips to the Canadian north. The cabin and boats were by far the best we have ever experienced. Kara and Derek have truly thought of everything!
We cannot say anything better about the fishing camp other than they have done it as well or better than we would have done it ourselves.

Since 1999 myself and various family members and friends have been coming PCL and have enjoyed each and every trip. The fishing is second to none, the accommodations and boats are being continually upgraded and the total experience is well worth the money. I’d never go to any other resort/lake than Pine Cliff Lodge and Big Sandy Lake. And the Zimmerman’s are a wonderful host, as well.

Derek and Kara take good care of this facility. Derek is a good mechanic, Kara a good decorator and friendly host, and both make a great team for hosting the many people that visit the fishing camp. I've enjoyed the camp and catching fish at this location for over 25 years. I also appreciate the work that Derek and Kara do to keep the place first class.

Another week of fantastic fishing, great memories, and wonderful hosts! Our family and friends have been coming to Pine Cliff Lodge for nearly 20 years. We come back year after year for the clean cabins, friendly hosts, large bass boats and fantastic fishing. The boats are Xpress 20 foot aluminum bass boats with large casting decks on front and back. 50 horse Yamaha engines allow one to glide over the water and quickly get to the hot spots. Trolling motors, and fish finders on the front and middle are all that is needed. These boats will fish three people comfortably. The Zimmerman family run the camp and are young, kind, and enthusiastic hosts - we always feel like invited guests rather than clients. ||Fishing is always fantastic because there are no other lodges on the 10 thousand acre lake, so fishing pressure is low and the lake is managed as a catch and release lake for all small mouth bass and any pike over 27.5 inches. The lake is also very easy to navigate and the few number of rocky areas to be concerned about are clearly marked on the map as well as on the electronics on the boat. A guide is not needed because the lake is so "easy" and best spots to fish for each species are clearly marked on the map. Derrek Zimmerman gives each guest a run down on what lures / techniques are working. ||It is also important to note that our family catches and unusually large number of trophy fish for a couple reasons: after so many years, we know the lake extremely well, we are both fly fisherman and conventional fishermen and we adjust our techniques quickly to what the fish are hitting that week. Like anything else, the more study and practice one puts in, the better the results. Pine Cliff is perfect for young anglers as pike will readily hit most baits thrown. A father / son combination could easily boat a couple dozen pike a day that would be in the mid twenty inch to low thirty inch range and a trophy or two along the way. ||We have recommended Pine Cliff to many people through the years and anyone who makes the trip thanks us profusely and normally return the next year. If you are looking for a family friendly fishing spot in Canada, Pine Cliff is the answer!

Perfect week-long stay with long-time friends. Derek and Kara were fantastic hosts. The cabins were just what we needed, the boats were top-notch, and the beds were comfortable. Each cabin has an oven/stove, fridge, grill, and fryer. The boats are well maintained and ideal for exploring the lake and FISHING for trophy pike, smallies, and lake trout.
