I booked a private Active Shooter course with Chris for my family, ranging from ages 8 to 60, and it was truly an eye-opener for everyone. Chris masterfully combined theory with hands-on demonstrations, creating an engaging and impactful experience.

The real game-changer was when Chris geared up as the assailant, allowing us to interact directly in realistic scenarios. The kids found it both exciting and educational, especially since the course covered strategies beyond standard school lockdown drills. They also had the rare opportunity to ask an officer questions they wouldn’t typically get to ask.

We even handled a replica handgun and participated in a timed magazine-loading exercise. This simple drill revealed how even untrained individuals have critical moments to make decisions during a crisis.

The older family members were particularly struck by how unaware we’ve been about real-world dangers, leaving us all with a heightened sense of awareness and preparedness.

My kids also attended the Child Safety & Anti-Abduction course at the Carstairs Studio, just 30 minutes from North Calgary, and it was an absolute game-changer. They left the class energized, confident, and—let’s be honest—ready to show off their new skills on me!

This hands-on, interactive course gave the kids real-life strategies, allowing them to physically practice punches, kicks, and escapes—yes, even on Chris himself. It wasn’t just fun; it was empowering.

My wife and I found this course a must. In a world where, sadly, dangers exist, we want our kids to have every tool to come home safely every single day. Chris and his team hit that message hard. One moment that truly struck me was when Chris said, “This could be the difference between coming home… or not.” It hit me right in the core—but it’s the reality we can’t ignore.

My 6 year old and myself attended the Child Safety & Anti-Abduction course on 11/12/2024. All i can say is wow! This is a very well thought out and structured course, that will keep your childs attention and have them asking for more through the whole thing. Chris & Glenn provide very realistic scenarios, that your child or yourself could run into in your day to day life. They provided the necessary tools for my child to succeed, if anything was ever to happen.

If your a parent, please do yourself the service and sign your family up. I will definitely be recommending this course or any of their other courses to anyone i meet. With this ever changing world that we live in, its always good to have this type of knowledge in your back pocket.

Our daughter took the Child Safety and Anti-Abduction class today in Carstairs and it exceeded expectations! Chris walked the kids through a variety of scenarios and was great about providing the right context for each age group. Our daughter is 6 and hasn’t had any experience with aggressive behaviour, so self defence of any kind was completely unfamiliar to her. Teaching her how to handle dangerous situations is very important to us as parents, but there is rarely an opportunity for her to develop hands-on skills like she did today. She went in nervous and walked out saying “that was awesome!”
Thank you to Chris and the RHINO team for putting this together - if every kid took this class, the world would be a safer place.

My child did the Child Safety and Anti-Abduction class. It was fantastic! The kids were kept busy and engaged. They got to practice real life scenarios like what it would be like to call 9-1-1, and how to fight off an attacker. As well as how to avoid getting put in a car or what to do if you are in a car. We will definitely be signing our child up for this class again in the future for a refresher on these skills.

I signed my 2 children up for the course teaching about strangers and abductions. My children and myself learned a lot. The hands on learning, real scenario role play was a huge help for the children to remember the tools they would need. It was very engaging and geared for the age group that was there at the time. The kids had fun but also learned many new things along with myself as a parent. I highly recommend this program to all. I will be signing my children and myself for more programs.

Chris and his wife do such an amazing job at explaining each technique and what it’s used for in detail as well as going over a lot of things that I wouldn’t have known like how to find your gut feeling and if you have a fight or flight response to understand yourself a little better. And Chris will let you practice your skills at your full capacity without feeling scared to hurt him haha. Very educational class that everyone should take!
