I took my laptop to be repaired. Within 24 hours I was given the findings. Instead of charging me to fix it, Roman was honest and told me the price to repair could not be justified - I was better off purchasing a different unit. Its good to know there are still honest people in my neighborhood. I will definitely go back should I need repairs in the future.

Updated Review -- Found this place by chance in 2020. Roman fixed the paper feed on an older printer I had picked up second hand. Did the repair within 24 hours, flat rate, fair price, and even fixed a missing screw another technician must have missed. Very satisfied. In 2024, almost four years later to the day, another part failed. Repair done at flat rate within 24 hours --- and that included getting a new part from out of province. My 20 year old printer is back in service. Highest possible rating! Great service provider!

My experience is mixed.

My monitor got damaged during a power surge. I came to Roman because I saw all those good reviews here. Roman did fix the monitor: it's working again, but that's about it.

The day I bought my monitor to the store, he pointed to me the cracks on the back of the monitor. He said it could be a result of inexperienced repair. I agreed because I wasn't the first owner.

About a week later, the monitor was fixed and I immediately saw new cracks on the back of the monitor. This time, it's on the chrome (previously, it was on the back black plastic). Roman insisted he had pointed out to me a week ago and therefore it was not his fault. Well, he did pointed out, but these cracks are new: I have used this monitor for 7 years, almost daily, I know the appearance change. I regrated not taking a photo before I sent it to repair.

The monitor was connected to his computer and I was supposed to test it out. My monitor is LG34UC97-S, it has one single pointer to control things like brightness and contrast. It's designed to be able to move up, down, left, and right. You can also push it. The first thing I noticed, is the inverted control. Now, left means right, up means down. It's very counterintuitive but hey, I can get used to it.

I got home, and plugged the monitor back to my PC, the middle part of the screen is a lot darker than the two sides. After some trial and error, I found that I can more or less compensate it by moving brightness all the way to max and contrast to minimal. However, this is not ideal so I contacted Roman. He insisted it was my problem because he only replaced the motherboard and never opened the screen itself. Well, this might be reasonable, but as a customer, I have used this monitor for 7 years and it's been fine until this repair. It's really hard to convince myself I did something wrong so the screen brightness is uneven. He also questioned why I didn't see it when I was at the store. The reason is, my monitor was connected his laptop and my monitor is a curved ultrawide one, when it's configured to duplicate the content of a laptop, only the middle part of the screen has content so there was no way for me to find out the uneven brightness.

So, overall, I think Roman is trying to help, but may lack the skills needed to at least repair this particular type of monitor. Had I know the outcome, I would just get a new monitor instead.

I am really happy with my experience at Rosebud. Roman was very professional during our projector repair discussion. He gave me a good "time to repair" estimate. A technician called to give a status update in regards to the repair. At pick-up of my projector Roman explained in detail the repair work, showed the results, and provided maintenance tips and best practices. Rosebud is honest, reputable, and very knowledgeable. I am extremely happy I went to Rosebud Technologies.

$277 to repair a broken solenoid on my Kodak Carousel projector. The repair was fine but the whole experience went south when I tried to pick up my projector as they would not take my credit card as payment. I was told that cash was the only option. This was not communicated to me when they called to say the machine was ready. I was told to go to a bank machine or I could e-transfer the money, so I chose the latter. They also prevented me from leaving with my projector until the transfer went through, which in this case took over 30 mins. They delivered the projector later as I was not willing to wait, especially because I could show them that the transfer was in process and I had a reference number for the exchange.

I can't recommend this business. If you go, ensure you get a proper quote and know the payment terms up front.

First off, I should start by stating that I am the pickiest person on earth. So when I brought in my projector with the worst case of "self induced dust blobs" you've ever seen, I asked Roman if he could clean this up 100%. Not 90% or 95% but totally rid the optical path of these blobs that I caused by compressor air when I thought I was cleaning the unit after a lamp change. His honesty struck me different. He never once said he could perform this miracle task to my standard and he did not want to risk his reputation on saying he could. He even went as far as giving me other contacts that specialize in this type of thing. This was the second I knew he was truly trustworthy. I decided to go with Rosebud on the feeling that nobody would try harder than them to fix the issue. Fast forward to bringing the unit home and holding my breath during a pitch black viewing, I quickly breathed a sigh of massive relief. The job they did was SPECTACULAR. This projector was one day away from being listed on eBay "As is for parts" due to how bad the dust blobs were on dark scenes. The price and service was incredible to say the least. I am a customer for life. Thank you once again Rosebud.

After 30+ years of doing both personal and corporate formal technical support in enterprise environments, I have become pretty conversant with emerging technologies over time. However, there are some aspects of technology that I just don't have sufficient familiarity. Printers is one of them. I recently performed a firmware update on a Brother laser printer. No problem, right? Other Brother printers I own have had their firmware upgraded, without issue. Well, on this one printer, a 2730DW, the firmware failed, leaving the printer unresponsive. It powers up by LED light, but that's it. Screen non responsive. Being both stubborn and tenacious, I spent a some time trying to determine and remediate the issue. But alas, based on everything I have tried, I decided that I was going to junk the thing, which is really a shame, given the fact that the printer was barely used and less than 3 years old.

Here's where I ended up going to Rosebud, whose reputation preceded it. I spoke with Roman on the phone on my initial call, and within 30 minutes had my printer at his shop, where he offered to look at it and diagnose it at no charge, and if he can fix it without having to replace parts, he told me he would do so for free. This level customer service offered initially is unparalleled. Most shops would take advantage to gouge the customer on diagnostic efforts, but not Rosebud. Roman said if he did that, customers would not return. He promised he would call me back in a day or two.

He also provided some industry knowledge insofar as the history behind various brands of printers, their business approach, why some brands cost more than others, and the viability of parts availability and ease of end-user customer repairs, where applicable. I found this refreshing that he was genuinely passionate about technology, and I knew that I had come to the right place. So I left my printer with Roman, who professionally took down all my information on a service form, and awaited the result.

Unfortunately, the problem ended up being the PCB/logic board, though Roman indicated his techs expended much time and effort to try to fix it and really wanted to get it going. He gave me some suggestions on what I can do next but it would require a hardware replacement regardless. This level of honestly and integrity are much appreciated in this day and age. I found Roman to be affable, friendly, but also realistic, not making veiled promises or creating false hope. In my conversation before and after the repair attempt, I could gauge Roman's deep level of experience with electronics, yet that is coupled with a humble nature in which he wants what is best for the customer. I certainly would bring any other problematic printer to Roman for diagnostic and repair, knowing that I am in good hands with Rosebud. Thanks for all the efforts, sir!

Absolutely amazing service. I went for my projector issue 6 years and Roman was amazing then. Went back and few days ago again with some other problem with my projector. Roman gave great advice and service and repaired it within our budget. Absolutely honest and professional! Roman is also very kind and nice to deal with and highly highly recommend them!
