Route 56 renovated our kitchen and our unfinished basement in 2023, adding a laundry room, bathroom, and entertainment area in the basement. We are absolutely delighted with the results and highly recommend Route 56! They’re a great, talented team.
Greg, Ben, and Tyler from Route 56 took the time to explain each step of the renovation process and listened to all of our questions and concerns. Chrissy from Route 56 helpfully suggested alternative suppliers when product was delayed or out of stock. All the Route 56 workers and their subcontractors were professional, friendly, and took the time at the end of each day to clean the construction site, which was appreciated as we stayed in the house throughout the renovation process. Route 56 was organized and kept precisely to the budget.
Route 56 is a great company and we have already planned our next renovation project with them. Highest recommendation!

We were lucky enough to be recommended such an amazing group of people who have forever changed our lives. My husband was diagnosed with ALS this year and we were in need of creating a wheelchair accessible space on the main floor of the house. The AWL team came in and worked with us to develop a plan and design that allowed us to not only stay in our home but has become more than what we could have imagined.
The stand outs of AWL are:
- quality of work
- delivering on promises
- always being available (we mean always!)
- respecting the home and cleaning up daily as we were able to continue functioning as normal
- being professional
- not missing any details and being very creative in coming up with solutions
- listening to what we needed
- punctuality and efficiency in completing the project so quickly

We were able to reuse built ins we had and relocated them in our living room. They went above and beyond to match the finish and trim work of an existing cabinet. They created something exceptional we did not even envision. Our new master bedroom and ensuite has changed our every day lives. Made things easier for both my husband and I with care and just generally enjoying each others company. We not only gained a new space but a new family with AWL. They have so much empathy and understanding towards our situation and are sure believers in paying it forward. Greg and AWL and myself started a business relationship many years ago when my Tailored Living Oakville did some work for a several clients of AWL over the past 8 years. i have since retired from that business BUT contact Greg to discuss my desire to remodel our master bathroom to include a steam shower unit. Greg completed the design and had the trades come by to ensure it could all be done as per the design. Once it was all approved I did the demo of the shower stall and then his crew took it from there. All the fixtures and tiles were lined up through their suppliers and installation moved along. We got our dream bathroom reno WITH a steam shower. We were impressed with how clean the area was left at the end of each working day and contact with the team was only a phone call or email away right through to the end. if you need ANY work done I would easily recommend AWL you will not be disappointed. Thanks to Daryl and Brandon and all the trades that worked on this project!!!!

AWL Construction has done renovation work for us over the past 5 years
starting with a complete home reno that involved removing walls, relocating 3 new washrooms, a new kitchen, replaced 23 of the 24 windows, replaced garage doors, all new plumbing, updating electrical installing new light fixtures,restored refinished all hardwood flooring rebuilding a porch on the side of the house,a new covered front porch, a new stone look patio at the back of the house and a concrete pad for a swim spa.
The most recent project was a pavilion on our back patio measuring 16ft. x 20ft. This project exceeded our expectations. It was well done and crafted and the work was completed in very good time.
We would highly recommend AWL Contracting.

AWL are my 'go to' contractors. This is the second time that I have had them do work for me. They took a vision I had to replace my fireplace and made it a reality. I am more then pleased with their work -- they are professional and they pay so much attention to small details - the carpentry and craftsmanship are perfection! They are organized and always on time and make sure you are happy with the job that has been done. I highly recommend this company!

Route 56 is the best contractor in Binbrook. They performed all the work professionally and with utmost good care. Their pricing is fair and above all they are personable and very understanding. Scheduling was easy and all jobs were performed excellently and in a timely manner. They always kept us informed and helped us to make informed and timely decisions. AWL was great to work with. They are by far the most customer focused firm I have ever worked with in the home repair and renovation business.
They were always reliable, responsive to any questions or concerns, friendly, and professional. They always showed up when they said they would.
