This place does not deserve one star.
I asked for 24 baby girl cookies for a baby shower 4 days after the day I called. I settled for SIMPLE designs on round cookies because what I wanted would have taken a couple weeks- fair enough. I still expected cute and neat printed cookies to be able to bring. Also, to decide these designs took SO much longer than I wanted because the managers could not describe what could be done in this "short notice", they just responded "it depends".
When I got these cookies that I paid $53.00 for, I was appalled at the lack of care and effort put into these designs. Not to mention the spelling error made on 4 of them that I was told could be fixed by scrapping off the "s". Rediculous.
When this was brought up to the OWNER, she said they are well done for the time they had to do them and I should have expected them to turn out this way. She refused to give me a refund and said she would never make cookies for me in the future because of my expectations. Store credit was the only thing given which she ripped my off $5, only putting $48 on a gift card.
Since I refused to bring these cookies to the shower, my lovely aunt who works at GRANDMAS OVEN IN AYLMER, made me 30 cookies in 2 hours the night before, from her own home, with her own 2 hands. Pictures are below to show the comparison.
So unbelievably disrespectful and not worth your time or money.

First time visiting this small bakery. We did arrive mid afternoon, so selection was low. The shelves were very empty, but what was available looked pretty good. The store was clean but tired looking. The girl behind the counter was polite and patient with us as we briefly looked around and asked questions. We chose 6 cupcakes because we were going to visit a friend for her 50th birthday.
They were soft and fluffy, not dry. Icing wasn't granular. I would have loved to have had a wider variety of pastries available. However, I know the best time to go is earlier in the day.

Pricey but worth it.. you get what you pay for. Can definitely go broke in this shop. The donuts are something you have never tasted. They are unique, super filling, heavy and one of a kind. I will be back!!

Loved the butter pecan tarts (I'm a big fan and try them whenever I find them throughout my travels in Ontario). They are not super sweet which is great as you can savour the flavours of all the ingredients. They were so good, my husband even had one and loved it (he is never a fan of sweet desserts - now a fan). We also tried the blueberry pie - another tasty treat that is worth buying at Spicer's Bakery.

Just got a pack of cookies from Spicers through my local produce express. If you like chewy cookies like I do then you will love these.

Has been my go to place for donuts since I was a kid. Everything else lacks in authenticity compared to this place. Wish they had the tuxedo pastries (puff pastry with pudding in the middle and white and brown/black icing on top) in more often.
