We have been STORM internet customers since July 2021 and have been very pleased with the quality of the service. As cottagers, we are particularly appreciative of the option for a seasonal suspension. The communication from the STORM offices is clear and timely. We have never had to call customer service for a problem because there have been no problems. However, we have phoned with questions which have always been answered knowledgeably and politely. Just got off the phone with customer service staff member Gayle who was very pleasant & helpful. It's not often you call a service provider and have a few laughs with the customer service rep!

I've been using Storm since mid 2022 and am very satisfied with the reliability of their service and the responsiveness of their customer service. I use Storm Wireless (2-way radio outside mounted on a tower), out in the country side. My package has been 10Mb down, 1Mb up, and have had no issues with 2-way video calls for remote work. Just got upgraded to 10Mb and 5Mb up with a new radio device, and it is working great so far.

Worst internet service provider BY FAR! You do not get the advertised speeds, they overcharge you, customer service is extremely rude and if you want anything done at all you have to log a complaint with the CRTC.

Storm is a good-enough ISP but the service falls short in a number of categories.
Storm is Canadian and a local ISP that strives to meet customers needs but as soon as your 'needs' surpasse checking email I would not rely on their services. The price is fair in comparison to the competition but the uptime and connection quality is not.
We had used Storm for 5 years and below are some pros and cons for those considering it:
Pros:
-Canadian Company
-Polite Support
-Acceptable Prices
-They added unlimited data during the pandemic and this was appreciated (+1 Star)
Cons:
- Support hours are constrictive, is it the weekend, or 8am on a week day and your internet is down, good luck getting a hold of anyone until 9am or after 5pm.
- Every time you call you have to go through the same garbage testing even if the issue is on the radio and your calling back to schedule a visit.
- Support does not show up on the day they schedule you on *they will also charge you a fee if your not home a unfair double standard when you take a day off to meet them, this occurred multiple times
- The speeds and latency are abysmal, working from home is near impossible.
- Not all nodes have redundant power, we asked if they have a generator before we signed up and they said yes. Not once when the power was down (but ours was on generator) did out internet work. This also means that if the power is down elsewhere your internet wont work.
- We were told that Storm offered a tower buy back program when we signed up in 2015, they do not.
- We had to increase our tower height in 2022 mid winter since 'the trees grew', to my amazement I was unaware trees grew that much in the winter. The upgrade made little to no difference in our speeds or latency.
- We were assured that new wireless service was coming after we upgraded, after paying they told us that's not the case. This was the 2nd last straw.
Here is the last straw:
- In 2022 Storm changed our plan on us without any notice or notification. This is a CCTS violation that we did not report. They removed a static IP assignment then told us we could add it back for a additional fee, this was a service they had been providing to us since 2015 for free. This was never communicated to us at all, let alone in the 30 day window CCTS requires.
- Storm does not meet its 99% uptime as stated in the SLA (3.65 days of downtime allowed per year).
Storm is a good(enough) Canadian ISP if you like checking email, hate streaming, and are ok with the internet being down often. I hate giving my money to a US backed company for internet. But there is much better internet 'beyond the horizon' if you know where to look, and it is faster and more reliable. We had both Storm and the other US provider over the last year to compare both services and one is better than the other.
Rogers is building a tower in Clayton right now, and Bell has been awarded the fiber contract for Lanark Highlands. Accompanied by the low willingness from Storm to support customers I can only see Storms WISP having limited reach going forward.

Hands down the best customer service experience i have ever had, Jeremy was so prompt in helping my family with our needs. Storm internet has been reliable and has never let us down.

As a new subscriber to Storm I was impressed with the customer service I received on the phone.. as well as the installation technicians who went above and beyond to ensure everything was working well before they left. My actual internet service so far has been wonderful with no issues when heavy rain is falling or if two people are watching a movie. Thank you for you calls to verify our level of satisfaction and to hear any concerns. I recommend this service wholeheartedly!

A 1 is generous! When we bought our house we waited 3 months to get our service, that was 10 years ago. But we forgave because it was a great service and the staff was wonderful. They would call to tell you to up your plan as your usage was close. The last 4 years has been awful and I mean awful. Over charging, no service for weeks but yet charged full price, extra data on all 3 kids phones so they could do online work for school. My wife has been the one emailing and calling and she has gotten now where with these people. She went to the highest person in the company and was told by him that he would he would certainly make it better and call back. He sure did he the salesman said $12,000 for a new tower or $1100 for a pole near the road. She told him no way Starlink is now $350 BTW we got it for $199 and it amazing. So she did a review and low and behold Storm actually called her with her constantly complaining and asking for call backs. They were trying to save the business(too late)and would call her back last week with what they would do credit wise" because Starlink may not work out and you may want to come back". What a joke no call as usual with this company. People beware, the internet is so slow when it works!! We did a speed test of Storm at 0.5 and connect Starlink at 42 now we have a constant speed of over 100.

I like the company. I've been with them for a very long time but recently left due to Fibe being available finally in my neighborhood at half the price.
Still of you're a rural customer who needs reliable internet, you can't go wrong with these folks. I would have stayed if I could have but what I pay for Fibe is half the cost. Again, if you're rural who needs internet, Storm is a wonderful way to go.
