Overall, we love our beautiful, custom made, maple bedroom furniture but we are a bit disappointed with the quality of the wood finishing. We ordered it from a furniture store that is an hour away from where we live sometime in July and l believe they received it around the middle of October. We just had it delivered to our home this past weekend and put it together. There are a number of scratches in the wood that were just stained and varnished over. The inside panel on one of the drawers on the storage bed was damaged. Wood dowels along the top of the footboard were not filled properly so they are visible. The drawers need to be pushed with some force to close them. I posted a few pictures of some of the deficiencies. Overall it looked like they rushed the job. Buying Canadian is important as l want to support hardworking Canadians. I had hoped that also meant quality workmanship.

The smell of my new bedroom set is so toxic I suffered a cough and nose bleed within an hour of having this delivered. I have reached out to the company as I have never in my life smelled off gassing this toxic and strong. We had to leave our apartment for the night due to the smell and the bedroom it was in had the door closed, fan on and window open! Maybe mine was defective as I dont see other complaints on this but whatever this smell is smells like literal poison.

*Update* I heard back from Vokes after 3 attempts for an answer. Thankfully I rec'd a decent reply explaining the smell. That said, the product still smells pretty awful despite having the window open and fan on since delivery (6 days ago). My closet is 10 feet from the new furniture and ALL of my clothes also smell like solvent as well. I am unable to wash the smell out of my clothes which is extremely costly as I will have to replace. I am still unable to use my bedroom and have been sleeping on the floor of my sons room where I will have to stay until this smell is gone. Off gassing is normal, it's never bothered me before. This has been next level bad, esp. since it's ruined my clothes now too. It is gorgeous furniture, but the smell is not.

2 months later and I can finally sleep in my bedroom. The furniture still smells but at a more tolerable level. Wouldn't order from here again though.

We just received our full bedroom furniture set from Vokes, and we are very happy with the quality and craftmanship of this furniture. Solid, Canadian hardwood furniture, can't be beat!! We highly recommend this company. Thank you so much Vokes for continuing to make good quality Canadian products!

We spent 4000+ on a bedroom set and the bed rails keep breaking. They broke the first time, so we called the store and they sent out a new set and replaced them. 3 weeks after they were replaced, they were broken again. my bed now sits on the ground awaiting another rail set (6-10 weeks). Obviously there is flaws in the design of the 1 bolt and 2 dowels that hold the rails in place.

Would have appreciated the option of swapping to another model in the same stain, but was told "this is the option the manufacturer is willing to honor". My Ikea bed is still perfect 10 years after buying it!

After saving up for many years for the right bedroom furniture and looking for a long time for what we felt was the best furniture, we are thoroughly disappointed with our Vokes furniture. I saved up to try to give my wife the best I could, she is so sad from this experience.
It arrived here (later then we where told) through Leons (another business we wont be going back to) The drawers couldn't even be opened, how does it even leave their shop in this condition? The wood is splitting also, it clearly wasn't dried well enough. We still cant use the drawer, we have been pushed around and aside from Leons, and nobody at Vokes has answered us back at all. Its been going on for a few months still. Leons is just as bad as well. The furniture on display looked better then what we received The drawer spacings are not even accurate on any of the units each drawer is a different size. It was so expensive I expected some quality control and we tried to support a local Canadian company, but never again! I never leave reviews but we are so disappointed with Vokes I had to warn others. Leons has pushed us back another 3 weeks before coming to even see it. Its already been months. On top of that it will be even longer of wait afterwards perhaps another 3 months to redo a drawer if they even do that.

Spend your money elsewhere.

- Poor quality, no quality control before its shipped
- No customer service, no responses
- Expensive for what you get , don't mind paying but this isn't good, not worth the price tag.
- Long wait, again don't mind waiting but the wait was much longer then we were told and for this..
- Problems have not been solved.

I don't want the furniture and if they don't settle this I will be doing an ad campaign against them since I have ties with advertisers. I rather pay for that. I also have a large social media following so I'll be sure to put the word out on that as well to warn others, if they do not respond soon and satisfy us.
I hope they respond soon Id much rather they took this stuff back.

We waited about 8 weeks for our dresser to get delivered. Looks great but when you look at the workmanship, you start noticing flaws. There were cracks on the bottom of 4 out of the 6 drawers and the finishing work of the drawers was not what we expected. The insides of the drawers were not sanded well and were left rough in some parts to the touch. The drawers do not glide smoothly. For the price we paid, we expected better Canadian workmanship. Very disappointed that our piece was shipped to us with these flaws. Regrettably, we are returning the dresser.

Purchased a bedroom set for $5k, 6 months ago. The rails have fallen off from the headboard and footboard. One tiny little peg is all that supports the rails and has cracked the support holes from the footboard (I weigh less than 200lbs). Bed is now supported by 2x4's and looks damaged. For the price we paid the durability of the product is very poor. I would steer clear of this company!!

My furniture arrived in five weeks, not the ten I was told it may take. The truly awe-inspiring quality and craftsmanship makes these pieces works of art. They are not cheap, and it shows, but it is worth every... single... penny!!! For the highest level of construction and quality, I would have expected to pay twice the price, and I happily would have. Great value for timeless pieces my descendants will love just as much as I do! If you are thinking about getting furniture from this company, BUY IT! You won’t regret it!
