Had a great experience in the Early Sparks program. It is a good way to figure out if starting a business is something for you and what all you have to be aware of before you even start. Very supportive people running the program. Recommended for anyone thinking of starting their own business (and if you have already started one there are other programs for you too here)

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience!

Last month, I attended a Waterloo Meetup event and won a door prize for a website legal compliance audit from a local IT company. After reaching out to them, they reviewed my website and found that a primary component was incorrectly set up. Fixing the issue would have cost $500.

Thankfully, the Waterloo Small Business Centre, especially Khrushi Patel, came to the rescue! She helped me fix the URL configuration in just one second.

As a small business owner, I’m incredibly grateful for the government support and the amazing team at the Waterloo Small Business Centre. Thank you, Khrushi, not only for fixing the issue but also for educating me—so that others can't take advantage of small business owners.

This is a great space focusing on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and building a community around it! They offer co-working spaces, long term rentals and shared spaces with other like minded organizations. Love that the space is created using re-used furniture, low impact materials and a local art installation! Pop in to work for a short while or just chat with some good people.

The SDG Idea Factory is managed by the Waterloo Region Small Business Centre. It is a vibrant space for entrepreneurs and innovators, particularly those that are looking for support on generating a social impact towards the United Nations sustainable development goals. The open space is bright and spacious for events. GreenHouse at UW has hosted 2 events there so far and we'll be back this fall.
