Use all kinds of word salad to explain why long-time customers are punished with higher prices than advertised for newcomers. I was paying almost thirty dollars more than was advertised to entice new customers. The agent said my rate was "grandfathered in" and that it reflects the yearly base rate increase. Basically, the longer you stay with this company, the more you will pay for their "services". They count on you not paying attention to your bill. I would not recommend Cogeco to anyone and once I find another internet service provider, I will be cancelling with Cogeco for good.

You should run as fast and far as possible from Cogeco. They entice you with their so-called promotions, and a few months later they jack up their prices. Cogeco called me after I canceled my service for a better deal with another service provider in an attempt to win me back. If I don't agree to stay with them, they threaten me with a disconnection fee. You can only return their equipment through Canada Post. When I called Cogeco customer service during the postal strike to ask if I could drop the equipment off at a Cogeco location, I was told no and that I would be charged for the equipment until it was returned. The unethical tactics used by Cogeco are so disappointing that I intend to consult an consumer lawyer.

My experience is relatively good. The internet doesn’t give me me speed promised because of my distance from the nearest box but they give me a satisfactory discount. The cable is far superior to Bell satellite and a lot cheaper than Bell Fibe which is still not available in my area. Rogers is a non issue as it’s not available here either. The only problem with the cable I have is that the show description on some channels is wrong or it’s not even the right show lol!
The tech support is amazing and god at their job.
I’m now leaning towards leaving cable behind and just getting a few streaming services and saving money.
Time will tell especially with the changes coming to channels in January 2025

This company harassed us at our door for over 8 months constantly sent men to knock & knock & knock * UPDATE Upon cloud door cam review *** FOR OVER A WHOLE YEAR these people from cogeco harassed the crap out of me on countless occasions they came knocking every 2 to 3 weeks . They constantly canvass our neighborhood pushing their services ..

In October of last year the last guy they sent made us a offer on video we couldn't but totally should have once again refused just as I did all of the irher previous sale pitch offers all year long with constant knocks from cogeco employees because cocgeco totally scammed me & failed to honor the sakes pitch agreement which was no payment untill after Christmas & there after Christmas 50 plus some odd dollara a month for basic service which was about a savings of about 25 bucks monthly for me , HOWEVER like a croook cogeco took money out of my bank account before Christmas & also caused my account to bounce which stuff me with nsf fee , & now they go as far as to say I owe them 187 for January and December & have cut my kids wifi off because I can not afford to pay what they are trying to rip us the heck off for !! Which is a rediculas amount , nor will they make any adjuments nor accept accountability what so ever for the false agreement that rheir cogeco team player verbalized to me in person face to face on record in order to dupe us into switching & signing up with cogeco !

Don't fall for this cogeco "fiboorictic is cheaper & better than your current basic dsl service provider along with this bs 2/ 3 months free up front sales pitch to switch to them pick up line because it's a totaly CON!!!!!! Its a false bribe !! they do not honor their sales pitch agreement & they are down right over bearing & rude on the phone.when you call them about resolving the issue !!

they are insisting on basically frauding me despite the fact I didn't ask them for any service they harrasssed and harrassed my door untill they finally talked me into switching based on a con , rather than come to any terms we both can be content with they prefer to insist on ruining what could have been a profitable long term business arrangent with an intended loyal customer over the disagreement over just 1 month of payment discrepancy ,

so it's back to my previous company I go !! Oh well cogecos loss it's all on video so " anti bribery and anti corruption policy" at cogeco I'm Calling bluff I am calling out !! I was nothing but harassed , bribed and frauded by the corruption here at cogeco in my experience 🤷

Be sure to record all transactions with these people and carefully monitor your monthy billing if you do stay with or switch to these people or be a possible subject to their scam as we were here !

Customer service is lousy. Tried to pay my bill online and they didn’t recognize my username and password. Tried to call and get my account straightened up and they had me go in circles. I guess it’s time to drop cogeco and go to Rogers or Bell.

2 and a half hour wait time to speak with an agent. This has been like this for over 3 weeks now that I know of. If it isn't the wait time it's the calls dropping after being on hold for an hour the calls dropped after this is completely unrealistic. This needs to be rectified immediately. I have been with Cogeco for a very long time and I am now officially getting fed up. Had two boxes delivered the other day for my daughters room and my boarder, 2 hours on hold because I couldn't activate them through mycogeco. Then to talk to a second agent on chat who had to schedule a service call. Tech gets here the next day I was sent two dead boxes. He couldn't even reach them with a signal. Thank goodness he had two in the truck.

Unfortunately this is a very poor review. I'd give them no stars if I could.

Almost 4 years ago I found myself rebuilding my life, cogeco was the only option for internet. Mid pandemic, they advised a technician would come out to install equipment. They gave me an insanely inconvenient window, I remember it being a week away between the hours of 9-5.

Being on lockdown at the time and two teens in highschool and everyone working remotely, I called back to request a sooner installation and was advised that I could pick up equipment in Kingston, an hour away.

I took time out of my work day, to go get the equipment, only to find out there was no record of me, anywhere in the system. Called cogeco back from the parking lot, they advised to return the next day. Returned for the second time, got the equipment, nothing worked. Called tech support, they said there was supposed to be a coax cable and wouldn't work without it.

Since it was the pandemic, I had to order one online and drive to Canadian Tire and wait in line outside...for a cord that wasn't even my problem.

During my service there were countless outages, service was unreliable, and the prices kept increasing. It's now more than doubled what I started with, and with inflation, and cost of living, I ended up cancelling after receiving a better deal somewhere else.

I called to cancel, only to find out that nobody actually answers the phone, you need to wait in the queue for forty five minutes. I eventually hung up, called back and requested a call back, nobody has time to sit on the phone for an hour! And this was on Monday! Today is now Thursday so the agent doesn’t call back for four days. Worst company for price, tech support and customer service. If you're still reading this, after my lengthy rant, go with any other company.

Also, after speaking to coworkers, who are currently WITH cogeco, I found out they are paying a lot less than I was, for the exact same service. So something isn't right with this company. RIP OFF!
